DB, why did you change your post? i don't care one way or the other...but if you felt the way you originally posted, then you should have left it for others to see and benefit from (or at least have available to base a buying decision on). i know that muzzy offered the same s bend with the welds not discolored and gave people the option of the discolored works look or the one piece stock look. maybe some would opt for the other based on your feedback. a nameplate should lay flat or with the contour of the pipe. period, no exceptions. at the end of the day, i am more interested in hearing about your opinion (as an actual owner of the pipe) as to what you think is good or bad about the pipe. i hope the dumbass comments did not cause you to change your position.

...I think the 'works-look' works for a very small target group on the fringe...the majority of consumers who pay a substantial amount for product want something that looks 'finished' and probably care less about ultimate hp/tq gains or possibly more strength and function and are instead more interested in ultimate 'curb appeal'...a balance of the two would be the ultimate goal for the designers and the consumers...

LOL Worm...the last time I was called "fringe" was by a left wing commie scumbag when we were discussing gun control!! Seriously though, I find I usually go for the "works" look when I'm too cheap to buy purdy stuff!!

wormie - No worries on that. I saw the thread you noted previously. I am/was confused reading down this thread on the comments. The comments after the initial comments note negative type responses. So..... my point was that either I missed something on this thread, or the initial comment was edited.
Actually, it wasn't that late and I wasn't that tired come to think of it. It was negative. Perhaps DB had a change of heart, which is always a good thing.

...the works-machines that are equiped with actual 'works' gear are usually going so damn fast on the track for most mere mortals to see and appreciate some of the fine(?) 'hand-craftmanship' anyway...I think its all about the power and the speed and whatever it takes to win for those who compete in those venues, asthetics aside...
...but for a lot of the street riding enthusiasts (whom I think are very large portion of the after-market buying target...cuz' we can't all be paid 'racers' now, can we?), who spend a ton-o-bucks on their shiny pride and joy toys and ride to poseurs paradise??...the shits just gotta look purdy, too, ya know?...

Wow this is a very interesting thread, I think the muzzy welds are fine, of course I perfer function over looks, except in women.

just wondering.... does Muzzy make any high mount pipes? I couldn't seem to find any on their site, so I'm guessing they don't.... but I hope I'm wrong
