Arata vs Sato vs Akra

Currently researching these three exhausts for the 10R, and between these 3, which do you feel is the better system for this bike? Which would you buy, and why? Thanks for any opinions in advance.........

All 3 brands are high quality components. I've only had experience with a full ARATA Ti system on my 02 R1 and i must say the tone, fit, craftsmanship, materials are top shelf.
I too am considering a Sato slip-on when they become available, heck even a Moriwaki ANO slip would be sweet as well.

Of the 3, I know the least about the Arata.

I've seen demo pipes but no production pipes - that being said, almost any pipe still made in Japan is usually very high quality.

The Akro's are well known and the full Ti Sato system I had on my 12 was a work of art.

I'm waiting to see the dyno curves on the Arata and Sato full systems. I like the Sato build quality the best, with Arata a VERY close second. FWIW, Sato said they will have a pipe by the middle of May, when I called a month ago. And said they would have rearsets available by the end of May.

We'll see....

My opinion having personally owned them all in question is Arata first , Sato second and PRICEY , and Akro last place and what a joke . I bought an Akro because of all the BS hype I read about and heard from the boys . What a mistake I made on that purchase .

The Akropovic seems to have a raspy sound to everyone I have heard . Nowhere near as deep and powerful a tone as an Arata , Muzzy or a Yosh . You ever heard the shrill eeking sound of an Akro on a 600cc bike ? Like finger nails on a chalkboard .

Sato is a great pipe but mucho coin . Also "I" think it is rather plain in looks . Performance and sound are top shelf . They seem to make slipons mostly . That means to me easy money . Not much R&D for a slipon .

Arata , Muzzys , Jardine and Yosh are my personal favorites . But for my RC51 , she wears the Sato Banzai's .

Seems to me that Sato has dropped their prices by a few hundred $ - their full systems seem to be around $1200 now (as oppsed to the $1800+ they were a year or 2 ago).

They had a bitchin quick release fuel tank setup there too (I used this type of setup on the Busa and while it doesn't seem like much, it sure was convenient).

Sato

FYI

Dan Kyle told me on the phone that Sato will only make a slipon for the 10R . I am looking for a full system .

That bites! When did you talk to him? I ask only 'cause I called Sato about 3 weeks ago, and was told they would have a full system ready by middle of May. Maybe they are having problems making it work and have shelved the project. I heard they had problems with producing a system for the 636. Maybe Sato can't figure out the Kwacks?

If that's the case, then come on Arata!

I have an Akrapovic on my 12...I highly recommend it!!!...That is the only pipe I will ever buy again...Paid $930.00 from Spencercycles.com

I have seen the Arata, Arrow and are almost a carbon copy of the Akrapovic... Ti-Force, Hindle step seems like a copy of the Akra...But thats the way it is, all the manufacturers copy each other...

so you would buy another? What kind of sound did it make? Comparable to what other exhaust for your gixxer 1k? Loud as a D&D? Throaty? Raspy? Thanks for the input......

Runninhorn, he was probably referring to the stainless Akrapovic system (the race) being $930.00. A titanium system for that price would be a hell of a deal.
