Kawasaki Accessories Windscreen
Just got my Kawasaki accessories windscreen in the mail on Wednesday. For those of you who may be interested, it is made by MRA and is very high quality, essentially OEM level fit and finish. I've had ZG screens before, and can say that the MRA is thicker material and much better optics.
It is darker than stock, but not as dark as some, but I like it. It has a modified double-bubble shape to it. Imagine a standard ZG double-bubble shape, but flattened as if you pushed down on the upper bubble to flatten it out. Supposedly, MRA makes many of the OEM screens and many MotoGP screens as well. They are a German company, so their website is difficult to read, even tho they have an English version here if you are interested in having a look: mra.de/willkommen.htm.
Overall, I'm quite impressed.

Love to post some pics, but haven't found a site to host them. I tried ImageStation, but they won't let me link from outside their site. Any offers, or suggestions?
As for how I got it -- I cheated and ordered it through a UK Kawi dealer that I originally heard about on this site. (I ordered my turn signals from him B4 Muzzy announced he was selling them. I don't want to offend anyone here, so am reluctant to mention the name, as he seems to have fallen out of favor with the site administration since I placed the order.) Evidently, they are available over there already. Cost me $101 to my doorstep in SoCal. And yes, it is the "Race Shield".

Nice choice on lines and pads. I have the Galfer lines but running DP pads. Do you like the galfer pads? Any fade or have you tried other pads in the past to compare to. The wind screen is a little high. Seems like it would kill the lines of the front of the bike. But if keeping wind off of ya is all ya want it looks like it would get the job done. Good post nice pics thanks.

OK -- Here's a side view and an angle view for those who've asked. Sorry about the dirty garage in the background. These were taken late at night, so no opportunity for a nicer setting.

I finally got tired of the ImageStation hassles, so I took an hour this morning to create my own site. It's rough, but at least it works (I think). Sorry if the pics are kinda large -- still getting the hang of this web design thing.

Have you found a decent priced exhaust hanger or are you just going to order a high mount exhaust. Been kinda looking for an inexpensive hanger.

I haven't installed the lines & pads, yet. That is today's project. I'll let you guys know what I think after a chance to bed them in and get a feel.
The screen doesn't feel or look that high to me. Maybe the photos don't do it justice. I think the lines flow pretty well. Either way, I just wanted to be able to tuck-in behind the screen better. The fit & finish are far superior to the ZG screens I've used. Very much like OEM quality.

Hey BD. No 520 conversion. I stayed with the 525 setup at Dan Kyle's suggestion. He told me that the Kawasaki race team is having problems with the 520 setup -- guess the HP is too much for it. They are chunking gears.
If you haven't noticed yet, take a look at my rear axle position. I've moved it way back by adding a few links when I changed to the DID ERV chain. The 180 tire doesn't rub the hugger anymore, and suspension action seems to have smoothed out a bit from the longer (effective) swingarm length. I like it.
Duh! Forgot to answer your question. Need more coffee. I went with the AFAM alloy sprocket, with +2 (41-tooth). Got it from Kyle.

Yeah i mentioned that very fact in another thread here about staying with the 525 setup as opposed to a 520 conv. I've had a Renthal 39T on order for a few weeks now (BO through Parts unlimited). I also agree with the axle position for more stability and as you mentioned a smoother performing suspension action.

CC, thanks for the pics! that screen looks like it will make a huge difference in wind protection/aerodynamics. you are the first person i've heard of to +2 in the rear. i went up 2 in the rear on my G1K (with an AFAM) and liked the results (although 1st gear was a bit interesting at times). is the DID chain you used longer than the stock chain? how does the power delivery feel with +2? how has the change affected the bike's handling (beyond smoothing out the suspension action)?

The DID chain comes with 120 links to play with. The stock chain is 110 links. I ended up using 114 links, up 4 from stock. The rear axle is now almost all the way back in the swingarm. I've only got about 1/2 an index mark to go. My only concern was if the chain should stretch at all, I might not be able to adjust the axle to take up the slack. Then I remembered I'm using a DID, and I've never had one stretch before. Even if it does, I can always break the chain again, remove a couple links and pin a new master link in there. No problem.
Power delivery is about what you'd expect. The change only delivers about a 5% reduction in ratio versus -1 on the countershaft giving about a 6.25% reduction. It tightens up the ratios a bit, giving more gear selection choices at lower speeds in the tight canyon hairpins. 1st gear wheelies come a bit easier, but what I like is that I can now use 2nd gear in some of the tight turns, which actually makes it a little less wheelie happy, whereas before I had to use 1st and it wanted to lift the front coming out of the turns.
As for the handling, although I was wondering if the longer wheelbase might affect things, I haven't really noticed much of a difference. Then again, I've only been out for one day of canyon carving since making the change, and it was on Hwy 33, which doesn't have a lot of tight, quick transitions -- a smooth fast run, overall.
