ZX10R is Cycle Worlds' BOTY!!

The ZX was second around Infineon raceway with a 1.41.46 to the Gixxer's 1.40.60 time. The R1 was next with a 1.41.77 and the Cbr100RR's time was 1.42.44.

Testers complained about shifting problems at the track on the ZX. It never jumped out of gear but it occasionally failed to upshift. They claimed the problem went away when aftermarket rearsets were installed. They also think the ZX needs a steering damper on the track but is stable enough on the street without one.

Other stats for the article:

Dyno:

ZX - 155.5 @ 11,500 / 77.9 @ 9,250
R1 - 151.8 @ 12,750 / 73.4 @ 10,000
CBR - 143.8 @ 11,000 / 76 @ 8,500
GSXR - 140.7@ 11,000 / 73.9 @ 8,250

1/4 mile:

ZX10R - 10.12 @ 143.04
GSXR - 10.13 @ 140.62
R1 - 10.18 @ 140.59
CBR - 10.33 @ 137.58

The ZX10R was also the favorite street bike of the bunch, with one of the authors quoted at saying:

"If there were four keys sitting on this table, I'd take the Kawasa-key!"

Nice article that seems very objective as opposed to a couple of the other tests I've seen...very good read.
