My tank bag has left small fine scratches in the clear finish of my tank, arrrrggghhh.
Anyone have any idea how to fix/remove scratches?

Usually a good polish will take them out.

novus 3, 2, 1 ... fine scratches use 2, then 1 ... heavy (very heavy) start with 3... but only for very heavy scratches

If you find the off the shelf stuff does not work, then you may need to move up to color sanding. Then follow with 3M glazing compound.
Not for the faint of heart. But a local painter should be able to do that for you for minimal cost if the prospect scares you.

the materials I listed are what a detailer or a bodyshop would use.

Thanks everyone , the tank bag was used on my old zx-7 and never scratched the paint like this. Paint on the 10 must be a little softer or not fully cured.

My paint seems to be really soft. I set my helmet on the tank once when I was parked and it left scratches that are still visable in the right light. Even after several applications of the 3M Glaze.

...maybe Kawasaki was so intent on making this bikes its lightest that they went with lighter paint or less coats as well...even the body panels are way thinner and lighter than previous Ninja bikes...hey, its probable...what, you think I make this shit up?

tank scratches
Follow the advice of fish antlers . I did this a year and a half ago on my ZX9R's tank . It had the normal slight haze to it around the penile area . Basically it had fine scratches in the gut area . Looked like I used 0000 steel wool on it .
What I found was the Novus #3 is a medium to light polish . It does not leave any heavy scratches on it's own , maybe a slight dulling . The #2 is a very fine abrasive and is a nice super fine polish . The #1 is just a cleaner maybe like a wax . The #3 and #2 Novus made the Kawi green paint on my tank look like wet glass . It looks very nice and showroom new . I didn't even use the #1 the tank looked so good .
Then I hit the windshield and headlight cover . Wow what an optical improvement . My windshield had a ton of scratches all over it . You guys know what I am talking about . Like a massive spiderweb and nasty looking . The Novus removed all haze and scratches . Again they both look like brand new pieces .

I think the paint is really soft on these things - I have used swirl remover and only with micro-fiber cloth and still can't get rid of the "spider webs".
I have never had a new bike look this crappy in less than a month.
Looked at my 12 that I traded in (it's still at the dealer waitin ta be bought) and it shows no swirls whatsoever (and that's under flourescent lights too).
