sounds to me like you are SOL and have little to no bargaining power as the bike is totally sold out and dealers are pretty much naming their prices...

Where I am in CA, we have a glut of all 4 brands. Its odd to be able to go into a dealer and see that many of em sitting around this early in the season. Normally we have to pay inflated prices thru June/July due to our more limited supply of mandated emissions bikes. But we can now get them at prices as good as out of state.

Like Roger says, not a penny more than MSRP OTD. Even here we can get them under 11K.

Good luck, give em hell

well... I dont believe you've had a "glut" of 10R's down there... CA has had a shortage.. just ask the members who have been trying to get one... maybe some just landed and there are more now, but that certainly hasnt been the case over the last few months.

PS....

Dino sucks no 10R for you!

I can tell you that you won't walk into hardly any dealership here in Florida and see a 10R on the showroom floor, unless it is has a sold sign already on it. There was only one 10R on a showroom floor within 350 miles of Tampa, FL this past week and it was an orange one, but the same dealership had 3 deposits on one black one that was not due in for another 2 weeks. I see the prices that some of you are getting on your 10R and can't believe it, because here the dealerships are definitely naming their price. I paid 11,300 OTD for mine and I feel like I got raped after seeing some of the prices that you all got.

ouch...I think the price will eventually come down...ya' jsut gotta hedge yer' bets that when the bikes start to sit a while on the floors that the dealers will deal...just get there before the next knucklehead has the same idea before its sold to him/her...tic toc tic toc....

Stay away form the city, if you don't mind driving to another state, then do it. I had a deposit on a 10R since August of last year and when the bike came he wanted $10,699 plus tax, title and tags. I told him to seel the bike and give me my deposit back. I had a four bike dela for him and he didn't want to budge. So, screw him and the dealership, they could have made close to $40,000 on the package and he didn't want it. Anyway, my partner and I drove down to Sumter, SC and picked our bikes up, $9,940 plus tax, title and tags $10,270 ou tthe door. It was a 12 houre round trip day, but I have my 10R in the garage and broke in now. It's up to you how bad it hurts, your time or your money. It does pay to shop...
Peace,
Johnny

well, I put a $100 deposit down on the bike saturday morning, but couldnt get back in time to get it before they closed. I talked to the salesman 5 mins sat morning, he said $100 will hold the orange one I want, and that he would do his best to get the best price, but they werent coming down on em much (rollseyes) I saw 4 on the floor, 2 oranges, a green, and a black one........with 4 on the floor, id imagine they better deal b/c it doesnt look like they are moving many...........so what first offer should I make, OTD? $10000?

What is the Dealerships name? Would I just have to pay tax and title when I got back to Texas? Never bought one out of state......but my OTD price would be 9699? Anyone know what the dealers pay for these bikes?

Based on the retail price, I would say around $9000; just my educated guess only.

If you buy out of state.... DONT PAY SALES TAX. You'll receive a dealer MSO (manufacturers statement of origin) and a bill of sale. When you return to your home state you simply take those items into the DMV office and apply for title and/or transfer license. Most likely your home state will base sales tax on the amount paid (e.g. $10,000) so if the sales tax rate is 6%, you'll pay $600 plus license/title fees.
Just dont lose the MSO...lol
