THANK YOU KAWASAKI!!!! HOLY SH*T!!! i finished the loooooooooong break in (by the book) and finally opened it up today. WOW!!! The thing i liked most about my 01 G1K was its dr. jekyll and mr. hyde personality. when i just wanted to cruise, the G1K was a nice, friendly ride. when i felt like being bad, the G1K was my evil henchman willing to do the dirty work. since my first ride on the 10r, i have been really impressed with the 10r's handling and stability -- light years better than my 01 G1K. keeping the revs below 6000 rpms for the break in showed me the 10r's dr. jekyll side. a comfortable (for a sportbike) ride, and a capable cruiser when you just feel like enjoying the scenery on two wheels. today i saw mr. hyde. brutal speed on tap all over the place. i absolutely love it. but i met someone new today too; the 10r has another personality lurking in the engine. the mr. hyde that i became familiar with on my G1K only hangs around from about 7000 rpms to 9000 rpms...above 9000 rpms, a whole new kind of evil is let loose...think jack the ripper. raving mad, screaming, wheel-lifting speed. jack will do evil sh*t mr. hyde never even thought of...i like jack, and so far he likes me. the 10r's personalities...dr. jekyll, mr. hyde, and jack the ripper...in a small, lightweight, great-handling, stable package that looks like it rides. thank you, kawasaki!!! i am a happy customer.

I also shipped a G1K and totally agree! The only thing is I have 300 miles on it. Not so patient. Very good GGRaasshappa with the breakin. However I am an impatient F@#K and finished a little early. The 10 is a riot at 9 G's up.

Man, how can you guys ride this bike and stick to Kawi's idiotic break-in procedure? I'm not saying run the snot out of it; but no more than 6K RPMs in the first 1000 miles? Got to stretch her out bro, this ain't a moped.

My friend's wife's Ninja 250 has the exact same break-in sticker on it as the ZX-10R. Seems pretty generic, as it's unlikely the 10 and the 250 have the same requirements.
