Group buys on dampers etc
Are the any dealers interested in offering a group discount on Scotts dampers for the 10? Or maybe slip ons,full systems, power commanders? Just thinking out loud.

it'd be nice if the powers that be at bikeland could facilitate several group packages...like choosing from a restaurant menu...they could call it ... bikeland cafe'
each specially priced 'poser performance package' would contain the following items:
1) exhaust
2) steering dampener
3) license plate eliminator
4) turn signal kit
add DOT race tires and a PC3-usb for super posing...
...ok...all kidding aside, its not a bad idea...these are the common items we replace on our bikes anyway...why not make it a one-stop shopping experience?

well.... we need sponsors to step up to the plate and help that happen... it's harder than you think organzing these things and more often than not companies love to do a group buy since they get loads of free advertising, but when it actually comes to becoming a sponsor, taking out a banner ad and suporting the site they disappear...
sadly our experience has been that vendors would rather use this place and all of the membeship to their benefit.. .sell us things but never give back... it costs time and money to operate the site... none of us get paid and anything that is brought in is eaten up by operating costs....
if the membership can find companies who want to do group buys, offer specials to our membership AND support the site by taking out a banner ad, then we're all for it...
if not, we're happy limiting the discussion to our passion for motorcycling and leave the shopping and advertising to other sites....
we dont want to "whore" ourselves out, nor do we want to turn into a "las vegas strip mall" as many other sites have become (you know the ones)

Fish - what does it cost to become a sponsor? How does it work? Is it an ad banner? Is it a one time yearly fee or a monthly setup?
I might want to donate myself to keep the site going.

monthly fee, and we only take ads from companies.. the site will always be free to members. Kinda like PBS here.
