Radcow, Well, we gotta get otto65 to ride the piss out of his 10 this weekend. This way he gets the breakin out of the way and I get the chevelle blocked out for the last time for paint.
Havabusa, I had full intensions to get the 10r. But I just bought an 02 SS camaro convertable to play with this summer. I need $7000 for a supercharger, roll bar, exhaust etc. so I cant this year. Next year thou.
Spence, I was actually really talking about working with what kawi gave everyone. No add on parts. Just finding all the free HP in the bike.
I dont think there will be as much "free" hp in the 10r. But ya never know till ya poke around.

I had the can off of ottos tonight. Theres power to be had in there.
I looked it over quite well.
He's gotta get the breakin done so we can get a base line first.
We took off the rear fender and tail lamps etc tonight. Bike looks much better.
The CAT is in the can. Wasnt that a line in a movie?
No, it was "the chicken is in the pot" I forget the movie. About comandos in panama or somthing.
But really, I think there is a few hp in the can. Maybe a few in timing. Maybe a few in the airbox and or filter.
6 hp doesnt seem unrealistic to me.
I noticed there is a rubber insulating blanket from the radiator to the countershaft going over the entire engine. Or so it appears so far.

Cat is in the can, chicken in the pot? Dude put the wine glass down.LOL .The fender eliminator kit was from Ballistic motorsports. It was $35.00 and was here in 2 days. I had top enlarge the turn signal holes but other than that it fit mint. No more license plate lamp. Looks WAY cooler. Maybe Y2K can post the pics??? Thanks agian Y2K for the help. Otto

So why would loose valves make more power?
And why would syncronizing the throttle bodies make more power if they are wide open?

I bet the second has to do with the secondary throttle valve sensor. The first just makes sense - you want the valves to shut fully.
But I admit that I really wonder why this was suggested by the one who suggested it (not psycho).

In automotive drag race engines, you can get more top-end power by adjusting valves to the tight end of the spec. This makes the cam act like it has more duration.

You guys are too damn smart . Where do you learn all of this stuff? Oh, who cares, just keep posting it some stupid people like me can benefit .

Yeah, but setting 'em on the loose end retards the timing and reduces lift at the valve by like well, almost nothing. And why WOULD synching the t/b's have anything to do with power psycho. You guys are thinking way too much again.

I agree Doug. I just wanted to here what their reasoning was.

When Y2KZX12R questions something in this arena, you need to
rethink your position. From reading forums for several years, I have
yet to read anyone smarter on this type of subject! Much respect to
Y2KZX12R. Keep up the good work, we all benifit.
