On a 998 also. I bet that the Ducati factory has mixed emotions about that. The Ducati factory has already told him that he needs to work with the 999 and get used to it. "We sell 999's now. The 998 is an old model". And to make it even worse, he is leading the points championship as well. Chilli doesn't like the 999, like many other Ducatisti.

Yeah after first race he was offering his 999 to be sold. He said they put alot of money and effort into it but he still likes his 998 and hes quicker on it. It was on after race interview and he said he have bike for 100.000euros and lots of parts. Hes old bike is not using 999 engine he just take the best tuner from factory to his team when he went back on duke.

Hmmmm 998 engine vs. 999 engine. As far as I know, in the race bikes, both models use the same 104mm bore "R" motor.... As opposed to the 100mm bore motor that is in the 998, 999 regular and "S" version street bikes. The difference between the 998 and 999 is that the airbox and exhaust are supposed to be improved in the 999 family, at least on the street versions.
