Galfer Brake Lines

My second mod (after the Scotts damper) is a set of braided lines. First try with Galfers isn't encouraging. The rear line is about 2" too long, just enough to make the installation look a little like spaghetti. I haven't tried the fronts yet, but did anybody else run into this, or is there a trick I'm missing?

I ran into that with the goodridge and spencer cycle ics having them cut down for me! Does one of your front line have a 90 degree bend on the end?

I spoke to Dean at Galfer, and they may be willing to make up a correct length rear for me, cost (if any) to be determined. The fronts are staight at one end with about a 15 degree bend at the other.

Unless I'm missing something, getting these things right should only involve measuring the original lines and making the braided ones the same length. This isn't the first time that I've found aftermarket brake lines to be too long. Doh!

Had the problem with the rear Goodridge on my zx12 being to long... I am a little leary about getting them for the 10r.. Then fronts are hard for them to measure because factory is a mutlile hose set up, where the braided are just 2 lines, 1 to each caliper....the rear should be as you said simle measurement....

Its not like coated braided hose is scarce. Go to any hydraulic shop and they can remake them for cheap!

Has anyone attempted 2 seperate lines from the mstr to the front calipers as the parts to fabricate such a setup are available ??

Update on Galfer's response on the rear line: they now acknowledge the error, and are sending out a shorter line free. They do want the other one returned to them.
