Local dealer.
The results after checking with five local dealers :
* Two dealers were waaay overpriced, $12K +.
* One dealer had the 'slower' green one.
* Two dealers didn't have any, but one of them said to call him Saturday, which I did. He said, "They didn't come in, call me Tuesday at 4 pm." which I did and he said, "I got three black ones and one blue one."
Now...the end of the story.
He now has two black ones and one blue one, $11,125 otd.

At least he is coming off just a little, Just a matter of how important it is to ride early spring vice early summer. You could always play the "this dealership offered me at this price, can you match and I'll purchase today game". You guys got it rough in CA, VA and FL. Back when the Busa came out the dealership I worked at were selling them for 1000 over MSRP. I did'nt expect for the 10R to be in the same boat. Hate paying retail but I would also hate missing out on the spring riding season. Keep working on them, hopefully the other dealers will get a few and the bikes will start sitting on the floor for a few weeks (or at least until floorplan kicks in).
Good Luck, they are nice bikes.

Hey Michael,
I actually did come home with a black one, but you are correct, looking for a deal here in southern Calif is tough because there is a year-around market.
My impressions after 3 miles of riding :
* My ZX12R has a bit more grunt in the lower rpm.
* Suspension is stiffer.
* Ergos are a little agressive, but not too bad. (I'm 6'2")
* Brakes, engine, handling appear to be very exciting, definitely looking for good times ahead.
* The looks, KILLER!!
