Thanks for the props Fish. We've all tried the dowel technique, a piece of rebar, and the broomstick approach for balancing. But the occasional highspeed vibration will sometimes stay in there, and cause one of those 'vinyl-sucking' moments.
I watched a guy balance tires at the track on one of those $200 static setups, and had a 'Dino' moment .....
... and it was schweeet!.... et voila .... we now have a cheaper and portable version.

I guess the only big challenge is that the rod and balancers have to be straight and level - right? Wow - thats not too hard... maybe I'll get a set soon, I've never balanced a wheel, but how hard can it be?

Howdy Dino! One thing I'm missing is etching my name and numbering these things like you do.
Guess you don't use a Dremel to do yours? I couldn't stay in the lines!

hrmmm
welp i just got a few spare bearings, cleaned the grease out of them and use WD40 to lubricate them
thing will spin for an hour if i let it

just run one bearing to one end of axle, put axle through rim, and theother bearing on other end. set on axle stands, and gravity does the rest
total cost, $4.00 for the bearings at tractor supply. if you have some spare wheel bearings already, then the price is free
