400 miles

I've had my zx10 for 2 weeks now and am not breaking it in. I'm riding it as hard as i feel comfortable and heres what i know so far. 104 in first. 129 in second. 170 in fifth @12500 rpm. I love this bike. I had a zx636 and loved it also.

phatboy>>>Have you had any problems? Does the engine smoke or make any odd noises? I picked mine up yesterday and have stuck pretty close to the break in schedule with a couple of exceptions. My valves seem to be a little on the noisy side. My dealer said this is normal and that they still need to seat. The bike has 323 miles on it now.

I've heard a lot of complaints about noise and i don't hear anything unusual. The bike makes a very lil ticking noise at low rpm but my 636 did the same thing and after 600 miles or so it went away.My engine does not smoke either.Hope there is nothing wrong with your bike, but hey it's under warranty.

It runs out very well, no complaints about performance. My 7 (02 model with 1500 miles) still has a noticeable tick from the valves but maybe I am too picky. It's not a bad noise by any means but it is there. The dealer said pretty much the same as what you did, give it a few hundred miles and it should go away. Have you changed the pipe or computer yet? I heard that KHI is selling a performance computer that is adjustable for the bike. My dealer said the claim is around 15 HP. I have yet to get the price.

I have'nt changed anything on it yet. I am still trying to get use to the crazy power that it has got now.I got a road racing world mag from my dealer and it says the zx10 without a rev limiter should do 198mph.No yamaha in the comparo. Just the three. As far as performance goes 10 wins hands down.It does well in just about every category. The suzuki is a very well balanced bike also. They like it for the most part better than the honda. I think the r1 is going to be good too.(for a street bike).
