Documenting trading my 12R... A 10R is born! Photos... I have been wanting to post this for quite sometime now, but alas I have been so busy at work that I simply haven't had the chance.
Needless to say, as many of you know, or do not know.. I have traded in my ZX12R for a ZX10R.
It was a rather straight forward decision for me from a performance standpoint, but a difficult one emotionally. I owe the existence of this website and all of the friendships and good/ bad times which have come from it to the ZX12R.
It was about 4 years ago now that I met freek on LAZX12R/ Labusas and we decided to form our own site. Since that time so much has happened. We have made friends, and even lost a few. We have been attacked and we have gone to war... All of these trials of our lives have been shared on this site, and I feel that I have grown very close to many of the members. I consider people here to be family.
I know many of you feel the same.
It was, however, time to let the 12R go. Like the link to the ikea-lamp commercial I posted, (I will repost if people ask) I couldn't really argue in favor of keeping my beloved 12R.... so with some sadness I let her go.... This however, was replaced with the immediate joy and satisfaction of bringing my lovely 10R to life... so without further adieu, here are some photos chronicling the 12R, and the 10R's birth...
BTW, a huge thanks to our sponsor, The Legendary Burnaby Kawasaki, for somehow getting me the 10R whilst none were available.
The 6R and the 12R sit in the driveway.. totally unaware of the fact the we are about to abandon them... they know something is up, but they cant quite figure out exactly what.
They think they're off for another track day! (not!)
Unloading the "old and unwanted" at the dealer...
Abandoned...
Nobody wants us...

Home at last... A 10R is born!
Freeing it from it's cage!

betrayal.. hehehe.. ya right... KMC has a lot of catching up to do with the 12R to make it anywhere near the bike the 10R is... imagine what they could do if they pumped the 10R's tech into the 12R... then we'd be talking!

It was nice to see one for real. Sweet bike! Thanks for the tour of North/West Van (where ever we were) and Cypress Mountain. Now I know where to kill an hour or so if I have to wait for the ferry.
Have you firgured out the licence plate light issue?
And I managed to install the seat hinge without the instructions.

Fish,....yer' a cold -hearted,mean, S.O.B.!!! How could you do that to your 12??? Oh, I forgot........you never did love her.
She's prolly better off now. Maybe she'll find a home with someone who can appreciate her for what she is ____________
