The famous 'dip' is gone?

I won't be able to get mine to a dyno for a couple of more weeks. It should have over 1500 miles on it, by then.

Graves full-pc3sub0maybe the BMC filter that I bought.

Actually, all 4 of the 1k off the self bikes, on the same dyno/day.

It may take some buddies to do it, with NO ringers!

Hmmmm all these R1s over 160 hp... but you put the Hondas, Suzukis, and Kawis on the dyno and they all make 13 hp less in the real world on real dynos.

Is this a nationwide conspriacy amongst R1 owners?????

I can believe the stock dyno chart..152hp with 72 ft lbs torque..The torque is still low when compared to the other bikes....

But was that chart done the same day with both stock and modified?

Because if it was that is a really big gain with the addition of only a pipe and pc3...

Hey Havabusa....we will have to get together at ECS for a same day dyno... I only have 650 miles or so on her...but I'll break 1000 soon... I'm getting a muzzy slip-on and PCIII real soon (it's on it's way). So I don't know if you want to do a stock run or go with what we have at the time and at least have some kind of comparison....the numbers don't really matter to me, I'm a Kawi guy and have been waiting for this bike forever...and from what I'm feeling so far on the bike...it is better then anything I have ever owned, and that's what counts The power and the delivery of that power is unbelievable...seems to be getting stronger everytime I take it out...haven't had a chance to take her to some any twisties...but might make a jaunt out to Yarnell this weekend. I love this damn bike!! I even had to let out a couple of "woohoo's and Yeah's!" in my helmet as hit it hard up to 6k in 2nd and 3rd!!

Later.

whitesands, the stock graph and the modified graph were not done on the same day. according to chuck graves, some significant break-in mileage was put on the bike in between the dynos.

Not surprising. Chuck (Graves) is running the factory team. He should be showing awesome dyno charts like that (and getting rid of the dips).

Also. The numbers show low on most of these when they're tight/new. They make more after being broken in. The R1 we dyno'd is now making almost 153 (990 miles on it). It was making 148 ish when we tested it brand new (25 miles).

Valve adjustments and throttle body syncronization can have a substantial effect on HP.

I see...Still looks pretty impressive....If the particular day they chose benefitted or detracted from the numbers it it's a nice gain...Nice torque gain too.

Nah, no agenda...just seems like we haven't had a same day, same dyno yet. Since we (havabusa) and I both know Walt at ECS it would be nice to see... Of course if he's running a full system and me with a slip-on it won't be a straight on comparison but at least it will be something. Like I said before, I've been waiting for this bike forever...remember talking to the Kawi guys at Laguna asking the same question every year since 2000--when is the 10 coming out?? The numbers were honestly never a factor for me...if the 10R had the lower numbers out of the big 4 I still would have bought the bike... Now don't get me wrong, seeing the numbers posted by the mags and stuff got me a little more excited..but it also kinda scared me a little thinking of how it will be on a track. I just had the opportunity of finally getting on a track with my 03 6r and it was awesome pinning it coming out of the corners...now I'm going to have to adjust my "exit" with this beast...or maybe take all the turns in 6th

I just love how the bike feels....how it rides...it's a thing of beauty and can't wait to get an exhaust on her to hear her scream! Also working on some other stuff, steering dampner, getting the sag set--tweaking the suspension, the euro blinkers, a decent fender eliminator, a ZG double bubble...and other stuff..

Oh and did I mention that I love this frickin' bike!! I loved my 00 7R but it was a little to heavy (only in the slow speed stuff, high speed stuff it railed), loved the 03 6R--but I knew this was my "holdover" bike until the 10 came out--the 10r is a whole new level of love Kinda like both of my previous bikes put together....ahhhh...

Thanks for the clarification on which one was which.

KB, since you were able to tell the numbers on the Yamaha, would you be at liberty to say how the Honda ran? For some reason, that is the one I am most curious about. Don't know why exactly.

Thanks.

It is kinda hard to read. Yes that is 217 stock Hp and 255hp at the wheel with only slip on. I expect more HP after break in. 3 miles on bike.

Erich - No problem - 1000RR coming in consistantly in the 149 hp range. TQ in the 77 - 78 range. Only 300 miles on it. We've had others higher, so I expect it to move into the 150's pretty easily (stock) as the miles grow. With our Slip-On installed, she's up in the 153 - 154 range. And again, we expect those numbers to grow as the motor gets broken-in.

It does appear to me this year that the newest crop of open bikes are "tighter" than in the past. They need more break-in to show the bigger numbers. Personally, I believe that's a good thing. And it makes it more important to break in your new bike properly and by the book to achieve the biggest and/or claimed numbers.

Guam,

I just got back from Phoenix on my Aprilia, I rented a cage and dropped it off, so ALL 6 of my bikes are now at home.

I also had some 'specialized' tuning done on the Aprilia from a former Aprilia racer at NVH. He now races CBR1000's
as they are 1/2 the cost of the Aprilias.

NVH has about FOUR CBR1000's-all red, WTF???

I am hoping to see Walter in a couple of weeks, I'll let you know.

BTW- I expect (and told the Honda bleeders) that the ZX10 will out HP/Tq the rest of the 1K's.

(The Suzis are still kicking ass on the racetracks and topping out at 180 +/-)
