HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!
I have am part of a local riding club called 713 sportbike freestyle and racing. We had our first official club meeting last night. Well, a lot of our guys ride the gixxer thousand. So last night I mentioned my dillema with getting the bike and one of the guys says "why would you want that bike when you can have the gixxer" so I say "pick up a magazine man, your bike is no longer king and the kawi reighns supreme" He didnt even have a reply, not a single reply from the gizzer boys. Hahahahahah. All the shit they talk about my kawi and they couldnt say a word!!! Cant wait to get my bike and hand those guys their asses!!!!

I hope your correct. I am a little worried about the ZX. My thou made 152 at the wheel. I have been hearing horror stories of the ZX only making like 144 HP. If this is true the gixx will still hand us our asses. It seems like ZX folks are afraid of the dyno. I would love to have more ####'s. Lets cross our fingers papa. R1 would also hand ass to ZX.

With the HP #'s so close it's all in the rider anyways. So be a better rider.

Please.....You've got to understand that those figures are useless unless you get all the bikes on the SAME dyno on the SAME day...
Dyno's vary in their readings...some read high and some read low...You get a guy with a ZX10R going in to get his bike on the dyno after adding an aftermarket exhaust expecting 170 RWHP and he's dissapointed when he sees 159 or so...The air temps and humidity can make a big difference to dyno readings as well...So unless you get ALL the bikes on the same dyno on the same day you can't compare that to the readings of what another bike gets in some magazine dyno comparison.
Some poor guy goes in with his brand new ZX10R on a hot and humid day and having dynoed on a low reading dyno is going to be real disappointed...So will a guy with a GSXR...As well as the guy with the CBR...And last but not least your R1 buddies will be dissapointed with their numbers.
So, How do you really know which bike is the most powerful ?
Look at the dyno comparisons of all the bikes on the same dyno done on the same day...Now we've seen some different numbers from all the magazines doing the comparisons...Some have the ZX10R in the 150's, and others have it in the 160's but one thing is clear....In every comparison of same day same dyno runs of all the bikes the ZX10R is consistantly on the top.

Probably get flamed for this but does it really matter if the 10R puts out the highest hp? Not sure about the rest of the guys here but I didn't buy my 10R soley because it was being toted as having the most hp. I've been waiting for this bike since rumors started back in 00, had my deposit down in July 03 before anything was really known about the bike. Why you ask, because I've owned the same bike (89 ZX-10) for 15 years and when I heard a new 10R was coming I had to have one.
I just past my initial break-in and have to say that am totally pleased with this bike. There are a few small things that I don't like and will change to my liking but overall this is the bike I've waited 15 years for.
Now for those Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha riders or which ever bike puts out the higest hp while you're pounding on your chests bellowing about how much hp you bike puts out I'll be out in the twisties carving corners and having a good time!!!

Horror stories of it making 144? I dont think so... I havent seen a single official source that's pegged the 10R anywhere under 161.

cycle world dynoed the zx-10r at 155.5 hp, the 04 gixxer at 141 (down from 147 hp for the 03 gixxer), and the cbr at 145 hp. quarter mile times were 10r at 10.16 sec/140.41 mph, cbr at 10.14/140.79, and gixxer at 10.27/139.91. top speeds were 181 for the 10r, 178 for the cbr, and 176 for the gixxer.

Stright out the crate the Kaw has made me a much better rider and thats all that should matter to anyone. Even while doing the break-in, I can tell that I will be much faster on all my favorite backroads, and will have alot more confidence on my 10R. Don't get me wrong tho I do stay abreast of the magazines and shop talk. But all things considered, it would not really matter if they (mags) liked it or not since I have had the chance to draw my own conclusion.

zburner, i agree with you. hp is part of the package but certainly not the whole part. delivery of the hp is also important (compare the R1's dyno). in addition, the handling of the 10r, the small size, the light weight, the brakes, and the slipper clutch all contribute to the overall outstanding package. i still would like to see the 10r at the top of the dyno...

I would like to see Kawi on top but I'm not gonna feel cheated if the 10R isn't #1 according to all the mags. All 4 liter bikes are outstanding machines and you really can't go wrong with any one of them it all comes down to rider choice. I just happen to be a die hard Kawi fan and knew from the word go what I wanted.
Guess it's the same old argument "Coke or Pepsi" me I kinda like MT Dew!!!!

Bang for my Buck is my only concern. I have had the gixx for almost 3 years. I got my bang for my buck out of it and then some. The new bikes raised the bar and I want the next bang for my buck. Dont give me the crap (YOU CANT USE ALL OF THAT HP ON STREET) I am sick of hearing it. I just want to be certain I get the most and dont have to dump a ton of $$$ to make it faster. I like all 1000cc jap bikes and not concerned with fit and finish or colors just the power and curve carving ability. I agree from the looks of it the ZX is the fastest. Why cant I just afford to buy 1 of each and sort it out myself. Anyone have any $$$ they want to give away??? LOL
