10r ECU

After a catastrophic failure, the ECU stores the last couple of minutes of information that can be downloaded by the dealer. It can't be erased by disconnecting the power.

Memory is cheap now... but lemme ask you this, what if you plugged the ECU into another bike and rode it around for a few minutes to "erase" whats already been stored?

Yah, in the future, your bike will know if you get on another bike...If you've been 'steppin out' on it.

Cars have done this for years, and there was an article in the Wall Street Journal several months ago regarding court cases that used the black box as evidence. One guy that was racing his new Corvette and rolled at 130 and killed his Wife was being charged with murder as I recall. One of the main pieces of evidence was the data logging files showing he had been street racing in the minutes before the accident, after he had stated in all of the reports initially that he was not speeding.

TB-

Thanks, that is probably a good way to clear the missed shift, disabled rev-limiter, etc.

What will it do to the odo? I had the gauge panel replaced on my busa, I thought that the miles were stored in the ECU? but odo went
back to 0.

Aprilia has had this for quite a while, already.
