zx-10r reliability I may be in the market to buy soon and am considering either the ZX10r or the R1. My question is with regard to reliablility and what I can expect from the ZX. From the reviews I've read, as well as the posts on this board, the ZX seems like it's perfect, maybe too perfect.
When I mentioned that I may buy a new ZX to a friend of mine who is into biking, he mentioned something about the ZX having transmission problems? Is there any truth to that? I could not find anything when I searched this forum.

Preproduction models that were tested in Miami exhibited some reluctance to shift from 3rd to 4th under full throttle conditions. Those problems were resolved for the production bikes and all subsequent tests by magazines on production bikes and all personal experiences by members here have not encountered any problems with the transmission.

Everyone will have their own opinion expecially if their brand brainwashed. Tho it is still early, I am extrelmy happy with my 10R. Shifts smoothly. Being a first year bike, I will go back and pay cash for the extended warrenty before the first year is up.
All the liter bikes bring alot to the table, I am happy to see that Kaw knows how to truly step up and deliver . . . the bike rocks !

I didn't notice anything n the trans either, but I am still under breakin mileage and limit the motion of my wrist to 4000 rpm, but most of the upshifts wee done without the clutch. Like the man said, smooth. I did notice my 12r loosened up with mileage as is a smooth as it can be. I did notice the 10r's clutch engagement is earlier than the 12r, but I did install the Muzzy basket and clutch upgrades in it.
