A new bike...

And thinking of old friends...

Don Blair (Zhooligan) woulda *loved* the 10R. Of course, he would have flipped me shit for buying anything other than the green one.

But you know, if he were here, he and I would be in the same contest that resulted in his bike becoming the monument to just how far you can modify and improve a motorcycle when you really want to.

Don was always a firm believer in supporting the dealerships in his neck of the woods. So he'd probably be rolling the second bike out of Cliff's Cycle. From that point, the race would be on. Every week would be a contest in finding the coolest stuff for our bikes.

Interspersed between those mods would be fun rides all over the Kitsap Peninsula, and maybe some trips up to Hurricane Ridge and other points. I don't know if he would be racing this year, but I do know that with the 10R, he'd be sorely tempted.

Oh yeah, there would be a good chance he wouldn't talk to Nikki, his wife about buying it before hand, and it would live over at my place for a period of time until he figured out a way to let her know.

Where ever you are Don, I know you are looking down and laughing with us all, as each of us continue on in that adventure we all call life. You'll ride with me forever, old friend.

Yes, it sickens me how far "modification sickness" can go.

Some times you zig zag and run over the same ground... just to get a step ahead...hehe. Then I see a "bone stock" bike parked somewhere and think.... remember when...lol.

I'm just proud to say he was (and still is) my friend.
