Headlight Beam

So, to the lucky ones that have their 10's already - how is the headlight pattern at night?

Sufficient, great, sucks?

Mainly referring to the low beam but comment at will.

Low, the low beam is the left hand light. It's wide, but wider to the left, and is knife-sharp on the leading edge. I am raising the aim of mine tonight, when I change the oil.

The High beam is the one on the right, both beams are on when the switch is on high. It too is too low, so aiming it higher tonight.

I didn't get the owner's manual when I picked mine up so I don't know how to adjust the headlights but the low beam headlight is way too low. If you are on a 2 lane country road and a car approaches, it is hard to see the roadway. High beam was mediocre.

There is a 7? 8?mm hex head screw, phillips insert, brass color at 10:00 above the headlight base, this adjusts vertical deflection of the headlight. The large plastic knob you could turn with fingers is for horizontal aim. The locations are mirror-image for the high-beam light.

Instead of using a phillips like I did and risking stripping the phillips head and exposing the screw to corrosion, use a nutdriver...

Got the manual. Adjusted the headlights. Much improved. Now I need to go test on a back country road to verify that the settings are OK.

What about the tiny bulbs to the inside of the headlights? What are they for and could they be converted to blinkers?

Dunno, Andy - I think they are parking/marker lights. They come on with the key, and it isn't until the engine is running that the headlights come on.

This is not new for the 10R, either, I think.
