ZX-10R Engine or Clutch Slightly noisey during breakin ?

I picked up the bike yesterday Hoorah !!! While riding at 4,000 RPM 65 miles an hour. your hear a pretty good noise out of the engine area, almost the sound of a Ducati dry clutch. I dont know if this is normal or it has a problem. I am asking the guys who have theirs already if they hear the same thing ? This bike is going to hall ASS. It sucks having to break it in at about 65 MPH. Thanks

On our rides, we noticed a fair amount of fairing buzz while riding at highway speed. The fairings are very light weight.

SWFT, I could even hear this in neutral sitting in the garage and hit the throttle, you hear like clutch basket noise. The bike seems to run ok though.

Ditto here. Lots of clutch noise and gear whine, which hasn't lessened at 510 miles. I'm ignoring the noise.

Not being able to put my ear up to the computer screen and hear your engine.....I'd say that the noise you are hearing is probably the high speed generator, it makes a whining noise....this is normal......If you feel its abnormal or if it sounds metalic....take it to your dealer and get it checked out.
other wise......enjoy the ride.

Mine has a little slight tick in it sometimes. Funny thing is sometimes it wont make the noise and sometimes it will. Does sound like a valve train area noise but I have no clue. Why would this noise sometimes be present and other times not? Its not very loud but it does concern me a touch. And I havent abused the bike in the break in. 220 miles

I rode the bike again today,O and buy the way,saw another Green one going the other direction, and the noise was still there. The only difference was I put my ear plugs in,and the noise was gone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thinkI am just going to ride it and watch this thread to see other responces. The noise is LOUD but doesnt seem to effect the performance. I now have 300 miles on the bike.200 more and I get to go to 6,000 RPM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Huh?? Your bike is already "broke in". Change the earl and rev it up!

News from the 9/10ths guys is that a pipe Gixxer will run away.
Best top speed observed on GPS with a great rider...179mph. A 2001 Gixxer will hit 190 in the same distance.

9/10th guys???? Hey the 03/04 Gixxer is on the street. Why not run a stock Gixxer? 01 Gixxer with a pipe (and god knows what else). If you're going to compare them make it even...

Ninja... this was the bikes first outing. They were trying it against a "proven" bike. Im sure with a full pipe and some tuning... it will be even with the Gixxer.

To answer the original question, mine's got a little whine, and I think it's straight-cut gears on or around the alternator/clutch drum.
