Operating Temperature?

What temp do you guys see on your 10Rs under 60-70 mph cruising conditions? Mine acts like the thermostat is stuck open, running in the 140s when air temperature is in the 60s. It also climbs rapidly to 190+ when I stop for traffic.

Marco,
I've seen those temps myself during stop and go traffic. My 89 ZX-10 would run up to the 1/2 way on the temp gague when in town. Must be a big ZX thing cause my 89 is always happier when running the twisites/open roads!!!

Don't fret about the quick temp rise, that is the side effect of mondo compression....quite normal.

My 02 ZX7R does the same thing. It's not digital of course so I cannot tell you the exact temp that it is running. But, while running, the needle is barely off the peg. When stopped in traffic, it rises rapidly to the point where the fan comes on. (past 190) I would say this is completely normal. My 10 should be here today or Monday, I'll check it and post when I get the information.

Hey, have fun! I'll hopefully get my beautiful black one early next week. I'm going to ride the Kitsap peninsula today on my black ZZR1200. Umm...The only ferry boat in Port Angeles goes to Victoria, BC. Maybe Port Townsend, which goes to Whidbey Island?
