Been reading, now posted

Just got this baby after 4 long years of waiting. In fact I was so ill for a while I actually thought about not getting this bike because I felt like Kawasaki had let us down. 2001 I fully expected there to be a fuel injected ZX9 and they didnt do it so I bought a Honda. My first big bike was a 94 ZX9 and I fell in love but I didnt want Carbs anymore. I can tell you that this has been 4 long years of waiting, after seeing all the other 1000cc bikes get FI and then to watch all the 600s get it as well. I wasnt happy and didnt understand what was taking so long.

I ordered a ZX back in Dec and I can tell you when it I got that call I was like a 10 year old at Christmas. And this morning when I rode off on that baby, WOW IS THE WORD fellas. If you havent riden it yet All I can say is you are in for a huge treat. I have had 4 street bike and all were 900s except for a 2 month start on a 600, but this bike after 60 miles has blown those off the map. So many things to say about it but I will leave it short right now. You guys that are waiting, just get ready Its truely a work of art.

It just feels so good and I dont think I can wait out 600 miles of 4k RPMs. 60 miles of that is hard enough and I want to see what this baby has in it. This seems like a great place for good info, and I look forward to seeing some nice mods going on. Anyone feel like its safe to let it rip after about 300 miles or so?

Hey Fish, i will take the advice. Better safe than sorry. I dont want to be like my buddy that blew up his 04 R1 with 10 miles on it. Now he has a long wait with no wheels.

I really dont know what happend. Different stories but sounds like the bike is really messed up. Brand new bike and its sounding very bad.
In the 1st break in period to 500 miles would one throttle hit to about 8K hurt anything? Hope these bikes are not that sensitive.
