Testing - What a rough day @ the office... What a job. 90 + degrees yesterday and "had" to go testing. Moto-x in the morning on YZ250F. Ortega Hwy in the afternoon on 636 & Triumph. Tough deal. But somebody has got to do it....

Man, those things were like trying to put on plywood! They stood up by themselves! I worked them over with some conditioner and put them out in the sun to loosen up. But yea, they were drying in the garage for a week! My gloves are toast! Got to get a new set.

I may have to break out my Suzuka 8 Hour leathers. Only wore them for a few weeks when Rich Oliver & I raced there. Do you think pink/white/blue is still in?

Kinda old school... 1988. We rode for OVER Racing Project. It was an OWO1 Yamaha works engine in an Over Frame. It was also the first time we raced on Radials, as they were brand new at the time (the USA was still racing on Bias Ply Slicks). It was an eye-opener. It was the toughest race of my career for sure. But we had a awesome time!

thats what riding is all about - having fun. When we stop having fun we need to stop riding (that probably goes for most anything though)

dude, i cant believe u ever wore those pink leathers!! how am i supposed to respect u now?!?
on a more practical not, i'm very surprised that they only started running radials in 88! i woulda thought bias ply went out the window in the late 70s or something.

....................................... At the time, pink was hot in San Francisco, Japan, and racing in general (RR & MX).
Unless someone else has had less head injuries than myself and can remember better, I don't recall running radial slicks in the USA before '88. Unless the factory guys over here had them. They were definetly in use at the GP's, but the widespread availability had not yet trickled down to us...

but can you still fit into those tights,oops, i mean leathers. They just started using radial in nascar in the 90's. Goes to show Bikes are always ahead in the game.

I think I saw you on the 636 yesterday - was coming back from my first skydiving experience (right next to the MX track).
Yeah - must really suck to be you.
I suppose you'll hafta drag yer ass back to "work" next week too.
