04 R1 dynoed sportrider website

The R1 has been dyoned on the sport rider website it had 158 peak hp which is'nt bad but the midrange is horrible way down compared to the gixxer it doesnt make more horse untill the the last 2000 rpm The 10r's midrange is close to the gixxers and beats it from 8000 up looks like the 10 should be king at least as far as horse power. with 161.8 peak.

148.0 on ours. Doesn't matter as long as all are done on the same. Mid-range dip is indeed really bad. 6250 - 7000 big dip. Torque dip matches it.

It also has a big dip at 3000 - 3500, with a slightly less dip in torque.

When Dino and I went on our ride yesterday, we picked up another rider on a 2004 R1. It was only a week old, had about 100 miles on it, the tires were worn all the way over.

He was sayin that it had no bottom end power at all, especially compared to previous model R1's. Powerband really kicks in at 8grand when it just takes off from that point, and it can rap out the redline at 13500...

It's basically a very flat 4-1 to the EXUP, then dumps into a very large S-bend, before spliting back into a 1-2 collector and dumping into 2 small diameter tubes. So you'd call it a 4-1-2. It's really amazing that they got the power they did from this design. Good on them.
