R1 testing this morning - 148 hp, 73.7tq. 30 miles on her so it's tight. Model DJ150, 200 Software.
Riding it some more, I notice the pegs feel a lot lower than the 10. Seating position/reach feels more "stretched". Feels like more pressure on wrists. Entire bike has overall feel of being wider than the 10. It feels easier to move around on the 10 and become "one" with bike. Steering dampner is a really nice touch and cleanly mounted.
The underseat exhaust feels like it generates more heat than the Honda. Not sure overall how this is going to "sit" with long distance, summer time passengers. You also have to kinda watch yourself from putting your hand on the tail-section area (as I have a habit of doing...), the hot exhaust tips, well... are kinda hot!!!!!!

Hot undertail eh?? I can just imagine what it will be like on that R1 when we get the summer soon ( 2 weeks)!! Prolly discolor your licence plate!! Although that could be a good thing! ;-) Girlfriend could get a butt warming too ..... as they tend to like that. Oh well ..... R1 guys have their reasons for buying their machines. Thank goodness we are not all alike!

For whatever reason, the Honda just doesn't seem to get as hot. It looks like its got more clearance and better shrouding around the muffler. I think the single large volume muffler transfers/dissipates heat better. The Yam, having two fairly small diameter mufflers run much hotter. There pretty restrictive too (having to pass 80 dbA). Sitting on the passenger seat on the dyno, they definetly blast more heat to the butt/thigh area. Another thing, my gosh, those passenger pegs are high! I don't know if I could ever ride as a passenger on this thing. It will be something to watch what other opinions are from actual owners. Obviously from a marketing standpoint, they probably aren't real worried about what passengers think....
