Hmm...Kerry, I recall someone being a bit slow because 'I don't need/want a rainsuit'...Seems like the tortoises passed the hare on that leg, eh? And yah, I'm slow. But I do ride more than an morning at a time. ____________

quote:You know I only had 20 miles or so on the bike when we hit Ortega. Did I mention I was riding at 50% when you and I left the others in our vapor trail???? There is not a "tiddler" bike on the planet (636 included) that can stay with me on Ortega, when I'm in full rip zone. Not even in the tight stuff. You talkin to me? You talkin to ME?!!! Especially when I get my own 10. So, I show some respect to my host, and I get street talk. I see.....
I'll give you a call when I take delivery of "my" 10. I do my talkin on the streets pal.... (ok, don't show this to you know who. He'll berate me again...).
XL, just don't take KB on a ride over 300 mile (KB's new personal distance record) or in the cold rain. He might turn purple.
I take that back. The 10R is so comfortable, I think Papa Smurf might just smoke the "desk (bench?) jockey".

All of this sounds just too damn cool. Too bad you guys didn't have good weather the whole time. Now if they will just get one down here to the end of the earth, (S. Texas) I'll be much happier.

Oh you rotten ingrates..... I am the ultimate backyard carver. My "rides" never go over about 150 miles. And I never, ever, ride in less than perfect conditions. Minimum of 80 degrees or more and absolutely, positively, no water. Zip, Zero, Nadda. Don't really mind wet. But no rain, no cold, bla, bla, bla...
And swft - yes, I let you pass me. What the hell. I'm a giver... Oh, and it was a pretty easy decision, seeing that I could not feel any of my extremidies, and what looked to be black ice on the road. I think that's when I was considering pulling over and calling the wife to come pick me up (sniff, sniff..).
But god-dam I had a great time ridding with you guys!!!!!!! Thanx for helping me set my personal distance record. But next time, let's hope for better weather.

Hey, I turned purple from the dye coming through my leathers onto my thermals! Not from the cold!!!! Come to think of it, I may have turned shade of blue from the cold.... I had to use acetone to get the dye off my chest!!!!! Ouch....

Hey K - I'd be proud to ride with ya again! And I'm sure you could 'learn' me a thing or two in the corners. Maybe I'll come down with an old guy named Mike and his 650 Hawk. I hear he does ok on Ortega. ____________

For the few moments (and they were very few), that I was able to watch you and XL (he was closer than you think) go through those curves like the water in a river, it was like watching hard core porn... only better.
Not only was it a honor to meet both you and XL, it was a pleasure to spend time with folks that don't act, but really are... just one of the guys (the faster ones).
Now if XL would just ANSWER my questions I could get started on the review for the "slower vantage point".

Bring it on brotha-swft! You're welcome in my town anytime! Although we could have alot more fun doing a track day out at Willow Springs or Fontana. It'd be alot safer. Maybe you could bring whatz his name with you. I need to be lectured too once in a while for going over the national speed limit....

Same here redelk. You're good people (just stop smoking gad-dang-it!!). If you liked watching that, you should see us up there in the summer time. Honestly, it really is like the Isle of Man. Full slides, knees down, sparks flying. Just gotta go up at the right time so it's "safer".
