my dealer just came back from an Valencia track intro. The 10R totally ripped the pavement, it passed the Gixxer1K like it was standing still, and was also quicker then the R1.
And it sounds fantastic

Not all dynos will give the same results. I love seeing big numbers for the ZX10 but the Sport Rider dyno is optimistic. Their numbers are always higher than other dynos. They commented that their dyno may be high in their latest issue.

Did you all see the picture of the fator headwork done on the zx10. It is ported from the factory, the 12 is also hooped up from the factory. This is way you dont get much HP out of the them when you build them. Which is great if you are going to keep it stock, but if you drag race or roadrace then Suzuki has more move to grow on.

I'm just a rider like most of the other guys here... You make a point, but you can bet the tolerances the factory uses and not as tight as a good engine builder's and the head work can surely be improved on. I don't think it is the factories intent to limit engine developement, these bikes are being raced and the teams aren't doing it just for fun. Engine management software, cams, valves, crank mass, pipe, air box, trans work, wheels, suspension work/components. Man there are a lot of things that can be done to improve performance, they just try and give you what you expect for the money you spend. Now if they were to use some of the components that say, Ducati or Aprilia uses, then the price would increase to a point that the sales would suffer some and we would surely be complaining about the price increase, just like the $300 KHI pasted to the 10R.

The manufacturers (Japanese) always leave a little room for the tuners. Course, on a really short stroke motor, how much difference is a little bigger bore gonna make?? Not much, imho... Any real increase in perf would be gained through compression ratio increase, cam timing, etc. As always, good ground for the tuners to cover.
