Called kawasaki again today.. No life I know..... I talked to a guy named Rick today at Kawasaki's US distrib.
First question I asked is if CA models will come with the kleen Air system. The answer was yes, they will. That sucks, because now I gotta buy tubing, etc to remove that lame fucking smog shit. But it made a world of difference on my 636, so im praying the process will be similar.
Next question was about delivery date: He said that as of right now there should be the bulk of the first shipment delivered to the corperate by the first few days of feburary. After inspecting each, the dealers should obtain there first shipments roughly around Feb 14th.

Thanks for hte update, not much difference here as it has snowed and we have freeing rain this evening. Even if that were not the case, it's only in th mid-30's this time of year here. So you see, I couldn't ride it and be able to talk about it anyway.

Well I don't know who your source was, but mine was from:
Mail: Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A.
PO Box 25252
Santa Ana, CA 92799-5252
Phone: 1-949-460-5688
And so far they have been the only ones with reliable information on deliveries. Back in december when people still thought they should have theres by christmas, they were still telling me feburary sometime. Some dealers were even bs'ing me and telling me middle of Jan., but they continued to tell me feb. So I don't know who your source is, but I gotta go with Kawasaki's corp for now.

CD I cant reveal my source, but you are calling the consumer line that only knows what the last information sent says. I'm not trying to start anything because I want to see the bike on the street just as fast as you do.
You will not see a US model ZX10R until Daytona maybe? quote unquote 20 minutes ago.......
From my email:
It looks like they will be delayed slightly, although I am not sure how
long. The goal was to get them out by Daytona, but I am not too sure that
is going to happen.

And yea, I will see ya there!
The delay has been well talked about through out. But this week I thought I should mention that most of the dealers now have allocation tracking #'s which is of bikes currently in transition the the states, and some of the eroupean countries are already claimming to be getting there first shipments late this week. MCN already has a production bike, and motorcyclist said they will have there production bike in about one and a half weeks.
Unless the ships are just going to sit at the docks until daytona, I'd say your source is incorrect. But I can be wrong, it has happened before.

Check my earlier post I said the european models were on the way, and the delay was the tranny. Trust me if my source says that they were going to cancel the bike today it would be true!
There may not even be 10R's for demo rides in Daytona................

CD, hitman,
I just got off the phone with that number in CA that you have and I explained that I had heard conflicting rumors about the arrival date of the 10 and what the guy told me, is that they are "shooting for" "late Feb". He said that they should be out by Daytona, we'll see. Now I'm really pissed off. Not enough to get something else, but DAMN. I'm really pissed off. Sorry just had to vent a little.

Hey XL! Isn't this fun?............
If they were here by Daytona, I would be surprised. Unless you're buying one as your main transportation, is it that big a deal? Is not the latest, greatest, and best worth waiting for?
Seriously, the unfortunet thing is that if you are getting information from "the source", the dealer, whatever, and it keeps changing, that's a bummer. No sense getting false hopes up...
Reminds me of the delays on the CBR600RR last year. Same promises/projections. But I don't believe they actually got shipped until like May! Honda lost a lot of sales because of that in the 600 class.

Fellas I know alot of guys have sources and contacts that think are valid, I joined this forum because I love bikes and love to discuss them. If I could tell who and were the information came from I would...........check out some of my posts
1. I personally installed the Muzzy pipe on the pre production 12R in 2000 at the gainesville raceway in front of hundreds of folks
Not bragging in the least but I couldn't have done that if I didnt have some powerful connections.
XL was mad that I didn't stop back and say goodbye when I was at KMC....
trust me if my guy says not until Daytona, save yourself the further disappointment of someone wanting to make you feel good by saying oh yeah they will be here whenever. When I worked in a dealership we didn't get exact conformation until 2-3 days before the units arrived and it was accurate becasue it from the trucking company verfiying that we would be there when they arrived.
I will keep you all as informed as I can

Whats the date for daytona by the way? Just wondering cause I forgot.
Also, I still say middle of Feb, but we shall see. Im open minded to both possibilities.

As long as Kawasaki fixes the problems I think it'll be worth waiting an extra month or so to have everything right. Anyways for most of us its the dead of winter and its too cold. Now just don't mess with my spring-time riding.

Sounds like Hitman may have some good info. I asked Mitch Boehm of motorcyclist magazine (on their web site) since they've got the CBR1000 now when did they expect the ZX10r. His reply was not until after Daytona. He also said they don't expect an R1 until after Daytona also. I just don't understand though why europe is getting theres but the U.S. is being delayed. Like Hitman said, there's no reason to get the hopes up just to get disappointed again. I say, fix it right, make sure it has more hp then the rest and make sure its here by spring

The reasons I'm upset is due to the back and forth info, I can ride year round with great weather, and mine will take even longer to get to me than any of you do to the fact that mine goes to the dealer in PA, and then he ships it over here to me, so IF it gets there by say march 10th I'll see mine around April 15th if I'm lucky. Now you see my heartburn. Oh well, my own personal hell.

By the way Hitman, you might have been correct. Supposedly my dealer got off the phone with kawasaki today because there allocation system wasn't up for the 10R's anymore. He said they decided to delay the bike 60 days from original date set to be offically realeased. He said the bike should be delievered sometime in mid march.

I've promised not to tell but there's is NOTHING wrong causing a delay.....................stay tune to Daytona!
