Mitch Boehm of motorcyclist magazine says on their discussion board that they ran a 10.2 @140mph on their test with the CBR1000. He says it's a little slower then the GSXR but probably due to the 20 extra pounds.

Mitch Boehm used to work for Honda and I beleive that his wife still works for Honda....soo... needless to say he is very much pro Honda...He has always been that way.
It is my firm belief that the CBR they put on the dyno is a preproduction machine.....I dont think they have any production units available as of yet.

What pre-production bike? Who's got a pre-production bike? Who's been riding a pre-production bike? Oh, you mean that pre-production bike......
What? Mitch a pro-Honda guy? No...........

Jake went out and set fast time on a mix of the two bikes. Hey, they're pre-Daytona bikes anyway. They were on their way to the crusher after this test.

If it were March, yes, they'd get "the look". But honestly, we've pretty much learned what we needed on the bikes and tires going into the first race. So nobody cries too much.
Build the new bikes. A few tweaks here and there. Update to the latest HRC specs. Bring on Speedweek!!!!!

Man, getting close. Hey Kerry, do you know Mike Sullivan (AMA 74)? He's hoping to be able to come to daytona with a new R1 and ride in Superbike. Going to be an interesting weekend. The real pirahna pit looks to be Supersport, with the Superbike race pretty much decided. Should be fun!

Yes, I know Mike. Not personal friends or anything, but definetly know of him and been around the same race tracks together. He's been around forever and seems to go faster now than he did when he was younger. When I was racing, I believe Mike was doing 250's. I was never much of a tiddler guy. I was racing Superbikes and TZ750's. I believe he also did dirt track? Wasn't he riding for Zlock or Pinkstaff later on? Anyway, Mike's a fast guy.

Yep, that's Mike. He got a new hip last year, and that really helped him out! Was at the point of retiring because of the pain, now he's good to go. The fun fact is that Dugan has never beaten Sullivan in an AMA race! ____________
