one freekin' big 1-liter shootout

What they need to do is one comparitive, critically long article on all these insane liter bikes. I would like to see all the newest version of these bikes tested in every which manner, compared and contrasted, and then see it all layed out:

Kawasaki ZX-10R
Suzuki GSXR1000
Yamaha R1
Honda CBR1000RR
Ducati 999
Aprilia RSV Mille 1000
MV Agusta F4 1000 (coming soon)
Benelli Tornado 900 (they need a 1000)

Every article I read compares maybe two bikes, but I havent seen a 1-liter shootout on all these new bikes yet! The press needs to get it together!

Is the RC-51 not a litre bike anymore?

I thought of those, but I guess I should clarify...I was referring to crotch rockets. There is also the Ducati Monster 1000 for instance, but the 999 is their crotch rocket, full-ferring, supersport street bike.

Do they still make Bimotas? I thought they were discontinued...?? I think that would be worth it, but would like to see 2004 stuff. Now I gotta look up Bimota on the web....

They are all versions of "crotch rockets" in their respective brands. And in the right hands, can run with and/or away from the first list noted in the twisties. Especially the Mondial (RC51 motor), Buell XB12, BMW Mamola Replica, Petronis, and Bimota. On a race track, that's for the most part a different story. Even the Triumph (Daytona) & Guzzi can really be flicked around in the right hands.

Don't recall who owns Bimota now. Kinda thought it was MV.??

It could be a 1500 and it still would not help.... Ok anyway.... include the XB9 version. They still offer it alongside the XB12.
