Come next July
Im there too. Whats the story with the camping arrangements??? I will be hitching a ride with a buddy who transports cars, but I wont have room for a tent, etc. Maybe I could get one of the locals to buy one for me and they can keep it when Im done!! (Id pay for it of course!)
Definitely interested in doing some serious mileage!!!

I think I'm going to camp next year....just makes it a lot easier to drink beer and pass out.
Just gotta figure out statistics of sending stuff up. My tent is big enough to sleep 4 large men. I bought it because I can stand up in it. Just need to get it there and back.
Hey Texas, since you have a truck and a trailer, you should load up with wood on your way up and everyone can chip in for the cost and some gas money for the extra weight. I remember wood being a problem last year.
sound like an idea??
Or, anyone else for that matter. I'm not a big fan of buying 8 pieces of wood wrapped in plastic for 5 bucks.
Anyone got a tree in their yard they want to get rid of?

I believe Nano and I are going to speed run it up to Oregon before the event and meet the Northern crowd for the ride down.
Either that or trailer up to Oregon...ride down...then ride back and trailer back to SD.

Hey frEEk, I got my set of chatterboxes that we can use. Now all that I really need is a set of bags for the bike. What gear did you use last year?

i already got a chatterbox. bought it at laguna this past summer for the ride bak up. was a great investment. everyone should have one for rides.
i used joe rocket bags. theyr pretty damn big. same ones fish & PK got. only like $125 too; bougth them from burnaby. we may have a support vehicle goin down with us this time, so we wont have to haul anything besides the initial trip to oregon where the support vehicle would be. u can always ship it fer the first leg. theres also the chance that we may have a support vehicle from vancouver even, tho i wouldnt bet on that.

Support vehicles are lifesavers!
Pretty handy to have some way to carry all that extra shit, food, tired riders, crashed bikes.... What model of chatterbox U got? And do you know if they all (even the old ones) work on the same frequency?

i got the cheapest one. i think its 2 mile range, and only 2 channels. the next one up is 5 miles i think. then the new one which has like 30 channels r something & is also 5 miles. i can see where the longer range would b useful. ran out of range of my riddin buddies quite a few times on the laguna trip.
