Muzzy Digi-Kill

What do you guys think of this:
http://www.muzzys.com/DigiKill/index.html

I wanted a digital ignition kill for my dragbike. This one kills the fuel instead of the ignition which is what I think I need.Anybody know the price?

How may would want one. I might, might be able to a little discount if enough people ordered them. Unless ya'll have a hookup with Muzzy like I do, in which case never mind..

My question is this is neat if you are "NOT" using NOS! because if the NOS is on and the spark is on (Bang Bang!) If the Spark is off, and the NOS is on, then when you have fire and fuel, there is a momentary lean condition!

Otherwise you find yourself trying to do the dance between 2 buttons "Off the NOS, on to the shifter, on to the NOS again! I know this is what people are doing, but it does not make it seamless and with a controller taking you through the NOS Power curve, What do you have??

Vincent, with the nitrous on, it causes a momentary rich condition, which causes those backfires when you shift on a big shot....

Ive never heard of people doing the button dance, thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard....set your shit up right with the right controllers and you wont have to dance on a motorcycle.

ARH, That is "Exactly" what I am talking about! That Popping that can lift the exhaust valve off the seat and blow your engine!

For Land SPeed Racing and to keep the engine together and avoid the excessive load between shifts, Like a lot of other racers, we use a button and the micro switch to control the NOS. That way, if a problem developes and the normal reaction is to let off slightly, the NOS will be turned off, even though you are still on the Button! But to shift, you still need to use a button and I am looking at a shift button assemble like this!

I know that people use them for Purge and shift or sutter Box and shift, but I am "NOT" Drag racing and do not plan to have those explosions after the shifts!

Plus, you answered my question, by stating the rich condition that is ignited when the ignition fires the mixture! Now remove the extra fuel and have NOS Only and you have a "Lean" Condition and BaBOOM!!

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring up the lean condition this might cause. I am also using alot of Nitrous and last thing I want is a lean condition. My bike doesnt pop or bang between shifts with a Dale Walker setup. I guess its all how you install your engine kill...

In a nitrous wet system there is a seperate fuel pump to make sure there is enough fuel with the nitrous. I thought this digi-kill would kill the power to the injectors not the seperate fuel pump. I am not very knowledgable at all on this subject and don't claim to be.Is this right or wrong?

The Dale Walker cuts the ignition so the cylinder loads up and when the shift is over, the ignition fires what has built up in the cylinder. AT Road races where gasoline is used only, you hear the pops and puffs as the bikes shift! Now for that use or anyone with fuel only, this is perfect! (And maybe that is what it is for!)

After seeing what happened to Bear's bike at Gainesville last year when the NOS blew the exhaust valve off of the seat and the Piston collided and blew the engine, I removed my Mental plans to use an AIR Shifter! Plus, another thing, one of their bad runs this year was soneone forgot to check the air tank on 1 run!

Harry....You are right. It doesnt kill the secondary fuel pump for the Nitrous. Im not talking trash on this piece but I just dont like the idea since im running juice. Im sure it wouldnt cause a problem or Muzzy wouldnt offer it. This is a personal prefernce issue i beleive.
Vincent....Im also not using an air shifter. Im still foot shifting the bike but using the Walker engine kill. With as much as 60hp I have yet on any of the tapes or hear from anyone watching my bike that it pops between shifts. If a bike does this from what ive been told the kill time is wrong. Some ening kill boxes will even pop or backfire without Nitrous being used. This year I have to install an airshifter but am going to continue to use the kill box I have on the bike already. I can no longer get my foot back on the peg to click the bike into second gear fast enough. Im starting to touch the revlimiter from 1st to 2nd gear shift.

I will be using nitrous as well as having an airshifter so I need to educate myself as best I can so I don't smoke check a motor.

Iam going to be using closer to 150 shot on NOS, so this is a lot more dangerous! I understand the foot up on the pegs in time to shift!

In Vincent's case, I don't think it will be as difficult for him to get his feet on the pegs in time for the 1-2 shift because he is going to be running taller gearing for Maxton, but if you are going to be drag racing, then it might be more of an issue for you.

When the bike starts to spin the tire from time to time, it gets real close, so I take no chances and only have my right foot down and my left foot, I keep at the ready to shift. A little more careful in the balance department, but I can just imagine trying to get my foot up on the peg with short gears! One of the reasons I developed my style of only the right foot down, from my 1/8 mile drag days on an H-1 500 Kawasaki geared 13 / 45 (or somthing like that!) Took off in second gear! Neutral was always easy to find because Neutral was at the Bottom of the shift pattern! Just a little dangerous road racing to hit neutral in a turn!

This year im also going to be in 150hp range. 60 was with a stock motor with no mods except exhaust. With 16-49 gearing you bet your ass it was hard to get a leg up..heheh

I plan on starting out with 17/53 gearing so an airshifter is a must for me.
I will not be running nitrous at first until I have every thing set up (suspension airshifter etc.) I'm going to buy a digi-kill and try it.

I want one of these boxes too. I asked Ryan over on the Schnitz forum about the bike being lean when the fuel cuts out during a shift on spray and he said not to worry.
