8TH mile action tonight

We took 2 1000's and my 12 to the strip tonight,Red Line Raceway,I still couldn't ride the 12 becuase of my wrist,so naturally I had a jockey do the work. Some of you Texas guys know him from the shootout, stacey, track conditions were poor anywhere past 330',but he shot out like a cannon w/the shinko at about 20 psi,60'1.4434,330'3.8144,1/8 mile 5.8331@121.00 mph.Traction problems were obvious, top of 2nd,3rd,4th on and off the gas, bumping the limiter. The bike has a 2 stage dry kit, first stage kicked on at end of 1st,where he carried the wheel into 2nd,and that's when the traction started to go away.He would then attempt to use the 2nd stage button and short shift, but just couldn't get traction. The bike WILL and HAS gone into the 130+mph range in the 8th,tracion permiting,so god knows how quick the run could have been.He went 122mph on motor the pass before,w/a 6.07,spinning around the 330'mark,but hooked the rest of the way.All and all, everything looked good,he could barley touch the ground staging at the lights, but once he launched, the bike would squat down in the rear at least 6 inches. Can you believe this motor is stock, less the valve springs and retainers.Maybe I should keep this bike!

Congrats on your wedding mike, nice pictures.Next time you come to Texas, hopefully no one will run into you(if you know what I mean). You know my 12 still has the stock basket,I might change it since I am a little heavier then Stacey. If he could lay down those short times w/that tire and that clutch, first 2 times riding the bike,I think he could go very close to a 1.4-flat w/billet basket and mcr2.The bike is at 64.5",he was foot shifting(lack of traction). We were thinking low 5.7's w/traction last night and an extra 10-12 mph.

cool!! and Thanks! my bike is right 64-65" and my best to date is a 1.48 60' time with my big motor of course. I think you guys can get low 1.4's out of it, that is my goal to this year!! make sure you are full of Oil! even slightly overfull is better, with those short times you are throwing the oil back and hard... even worse if it come's up very high. and I run 122mph in the 1/8th now. so with you guys being 1/2 a TFA member and spraying the crap out of it, I can see those #'s a buddy of mine has run 125 spraying and he was spinning like a big dog... well good luck for sure, and I hope to see you down there next season for sure!!

Stacey weighs around 135-140 ...................................w/leathers.I think it's safe to say that his 5.83 on the 12 adds up to a solid(but un-official)8 sec. pass in the 1/4.

I did not pilot my 12 last night, but my friend(stacey)did. The bike has a stock displacement motor(1199cc) w/heavy duty valve springs and retainers. Also timing is set at -6 degrees(retarded)and in-line resistor mod(remember Kingzx12r)same kit.I got a 6.1 and 5.99 on motor last year in Houston, but the bike was 66" then I think. He could have gone into the 5's on motor last night, but traction was a big problem further down the track, and I really do appreciate him backing off the spray so that my motor stays alive. The 122mph he did on motor did surprise me though, considering how fat the fuel was set.119 was my best all motor mph at 185-90 lbs,I guess it makes sense w/my weight difference from his for him to be faster. The gsxr1000's we had there last night went around 114 mph,so the clocks were right.

That's a good question, some one asked me that the other day.Try Team Lawson's web site,or look on ZX12-R.ORG,and look at the "nos, cubes, etc"forum(something like that),it's on there.I just can't remember what ohm size it was,but I bought it at radio shack.
