Starter button/ nos diagram needed
Can someone explain which wire to cut/splice into to turn your starter button into a nos button using a toggle switch? Currently, we are using a bracket and a button from Radio shack on the right handle bar but would like to convert over to the starter button. The dry kit we have shows how to wire it through the starter button but it is for the hayabusa not the 12.

Come on, you actually expect one of us to post a reply between midnight and 5 am? Hang on a sec. I'll draw one up. It's the same as the wiring I did for my air shifter recently. I even wired in a toggle switch that switches the button from the horn to the air shifter.

OK, I just realized that it's going to take me a little longer to draw it up and post it because my scanner isn't here. But, just to give you a little teaser: (You can follow along in the wiring diagram in the manual, or look on your bike.)
Coming out of your horn switch are two wires:
Black/Yellow - Goes to ground
Black/White - Goes to the horns....which eventually see 12V
Basically, when you hit the horn button, it allows the horns (which already see 12V) to see ground. Beep!
What you will need to do is cut and splice into the Black/White wire. If you follow the wires from the horn, you will notice that a great place to splice into these wires is on the left side of the bike right where the frame and engine meet. You will see a bunch of wires there that come from the left bar switch. The wire set that comes off the biggest connector will have the both the Black/White and Black/Yellow wires in it.
Cut the Black/White wire and splice the toggle switch as follows:
one side - Black/White wire coming from horn (+12V)
middle - Black/White wire going back to horn button
other side - Ground wire from NOS solenoid.
What this toggle switch will do is let you use the horn on one side, then let you turn the horn into the happy gas button on the other side. From here, it's just a matter of hooking up the other wire on the NOS solenoid to a switched +12V source of your choosing depending on where you mount the solenoid there are a number of easy access wires to splice into.
That'll get you started until I can draw up the actual diagram later tonight. It took my mechanical engineering ass about 2 days (and about 8 blown fuses) to figure this out when I was wiring it up for my air shifter.
Maybe someone else will chime in here and tell us if they did it a different way.

Wannabe... I appricate{sp} your effort here explaining the wiring setup but, I have the horn button figured out as it is being used for her air shifter. I'm trying to use the starter button as a nos button through a toggle switch. Hope this clears this up

So, lemme get this straight. You want to use the horn button for NOS and the air shifter? Or, do you want the to be able to toggle between NOS, airshifter, or horn?

Easier- UNPLUG THE HORNS and plug one of them into the solenoid, leave the other horn disconnected.. DONE! no cutting no splicing!
Who needs a horn?

I want to use the starter button as a nos button after the engine is started by way of a toggle switch. Her horn is being used for the air shifter.

i have seen it done. the starter button assembly can be unpluged from the harness.
Don't know which wire it was that the starter button was on, but he cut that wire and
sent it to a 2 way switch one side back to the starter and the other to nos.
No need to cut the "real " harness. 1 switch and a little wire.
Sorry i can't tell you which wire, but remove the left ram air cover and prob THAT harness with a test light.
it's only 4-6 wires if you followed it from the buttom correctly.
good luck

If you pull the ram air cover off the right side you will see what i'm talking about. the starter button has it's own harness that plugs into the main harness. use a test light to find and cut the starter harness wire that
light ONLY when the button is pushed. only about 5-6 wires to test.
(1)wire the button side of that wire to the center plug on a 2 way switch.
(2)run a wire for one side of the switch back to the the other end of the wire you just cut.
(3)run a wire for the other side of the 2 way switch to activated the nos.
your finish.
ps..you can add safety features like rpm window or tps switch between the (3) wire and the solenoid .
if you don't add safety features you can spay the bike when you try to start it. not good !

Normally, I am totally against idiot safety features, but in this case, I would so install either or both of those safety features.
