1 air filter = HP. Fact or fiction?
Ok, new topic.
I'm sure some of you have heard the myth by now. Someone even told me that it's on the 12r.org site.
Any truth to the rumor that you can gain some top end ponies by running one filter? Since it's only a few passes down the track, I'm game for the slight risk involved.

You should run either both or none. Don't make sense to run one, still let's possible debris into your engine & only gives you half the benefit. Ry Schnitz says he don't run air filters in his 12 at the track by the way!

Well, I can tell you FOR CERTAIN that one ram air cover won't work!!
Dunno about that one air filter. Maybe they meant one totally gutted filter and one good filter......!??!

Bergie runs the screens only and seems to make the most power that way.
Personally Id run no screens... but my local track is a dust bowl.
Ultimately no filters would offer the least restriction.

I dunno 'bout this one BA...
I've made some passes at Maxton with no filters and richened up the map with no improvement. I've tried several combo's but ended up with the best results by sticking with my K&N's and map wrote by Tuning-Link.

wow dan,.....NO improvement at Maxton??? Hmmmm. I wouldn't have guessed that unless you were already "drag limited".
PS. yeah, when I say "1 filter", I meant 1 normal one, and one GUTTED one so as not to lose air pressure out the top of course.
