Hmmm, trick question. "Do you want to?" if you're asking me directly the answer is no. Obviously "Can you?" Yes. "Is it recommended?" No.
If your mapping is correct it shouldn't be an issue, unfortunately most people who are experimenting aren't taking the proper measures to use nitrous correctly in the first place.

I have spoke with the Sunoco Eng. on the MO2X fuel and he has said it is safe for Nitrous use...

I wouldnt personally use it...whats the point? Easier and cheaper to use a larger jet.

I'm just an idiot and I was wondering if the extra octane would help to prevent 'potential' detonation. Kinda like extra insurance, but not exactly a guarantee.

Actually I think Spec 5 is about 90 octance, you'd be better off with pump gas. If you want insurance, run race gas from the track. I like YCIS's idea though

this advice (ycis) coming from a guy who started at a 40 hp shot, moved up to a 60ish shot, and now likes the 80hp hit.
Thanks for that info Dean, I thought the octane was higher on Nutec.

Some nutec is higher octane...100+ in fact...its just insanely expensive to use as a nitrous fuel.

well, by design, on a non-nitrous bike, the Nutec Spec5 is designed so that you DO NOT have to richen the A/F mixture.
I think some have done dyno tests and *for them* they got another horse or two by richening a little bit, ie. 3%-5%, but IMHO that's a rarer case.
Others have gained nothing additional by raising the A/F ratio, over and above the HP they gained by the oxygenated fuel.

I have dyno tuned a busa wiht nutec....it is VERY tricky to do.....i had to fatten up around 15% AND i would ONLY tune it in 3000 rpm increments till i WAS SURE it had a safe AF ratio to run the complete rpm band. Made UNGODLY torque and hp with only a 30hp dry shot. It was a stock 02 Busa made 218hp with 135ft lbs of torque wiht a AF ratio of 13.8 when using the fuel.... this was a bone stock busa motor wise wiht only a pc3r added. If you do not own a dyno....I WOULD NOT DO IT..

If thats a 30hp shot...that would mean the bike made 190hp before the spray? (218hp - 30 = 188hp) Thats pretty unrealistic for a stock busa.

Probly another 6-10 for the Nutec (plus however much the NO2 liked it???)...
So that's not as far off as it sounds
13.8 sounds lean though???
In one of the DryShot Kits we got from Schnitz it said do NOT use O2ed fuel...
I don't think I will try it (for myself) I'm also with Bry...BIGGER juice/jet...
I've actually been looking forward to getting John's Shot done so I don't have to SMELL that chit any more!!!!!!

The bike made 173hp stock after the motor dyno tune.
I DO NOT reccomend this be done....that shit is volitle and like i said it acts crazy with N2O. This was a guy that told me to do it and after i explained what could happen he said go! AND i DID. would not do it again. Unless it was my own bike.
If iam lying I am dying! You CANNOT judge the hP increase wiht N2O and Nutec..... the HP depends on TOO amny facotrs. i have the chart to prove it and It BLEW my mind when it poped up. I made 5 more pulls with it and everything was safe. The guy runs 5.80 in the 1/8 and 8.80's in the 1/4.
Chip Ellis rode the bike and could not believe how fast the damn thing was.

I realize that...I wasnt saying you were lying...I was simply saying that if you bolted a nitrous kit up to a bike that made 173hp..and then it make 218....then thats a 45hp shot

BUT we had the 30hp jet in it and it made 45hp with NUTEC.
Instead of looking at the HP number....take a look at the torque. 135 ftlbs.
Thats stroker torque!!!!
The bike made more than that...was just a little to lean for it to be safe. It actually amde 228hp before i ricjen it up some.
