zx12r rear shock
anyone have suggestions on rear shock settings? 0012r stock motor muzzy pipe clutch mod pclllr stock arm front lowered and strapped rear lowered with links stock arm 16 44 gearing. can't break into nines. 10.0-10.15s. short times 1.68-1.74 mph is 138-140. bike made 166 to the wheel on dyno. non rider weighs 200-210lbs. any help would be appreciated. i let a friend make a pass and he went 9.71 at 144, but he weighs 140

Pat...Just stay with it, the more you go the better you get!!!...Try to get the throttle open ASAP...Your times will get better...
As for the shock, you have to get a spanner wrench for the rear shock and make 3 full clockwise turns, then set up the rebound and compression again!!!

I'm in exactly the same boat as you!! I weigh a little more but the et and mph is the same. I bought a shinko, and extentions. Will see what that does. I'm also thinking about a airshifter too! I'll assume your going through the traps in 4th gear. What rpm is your bike at through the traps. It's possible you could use a little more gearing. Maybe 1 more tooth up in the rear sprocket. slow red 12
going through traps at 11 grand. tried going up 4 teeth, because i already had sprocket, but then had to shift into fifth, and couldn't get throttle open until top of first. going to try 16-46. should put me right about redline thru traps. thanks for advice on shock. just to double check, three turns clockwise is going to stiffen preload?
