Installed MTC Mutistage.....
All I gotta say is...badass!! Its a work of art....and installed without a hitch. I called Tony a few times during setup to make sure everything was in spec, and he helped alot!!! Really topnotch service. The bearing in the front cover is massive, and I have had any issues with clutch pullers yet...and I doubt I will. I went to the track yesterday with crappy results..track was so slick I just packed it up and left. Will be taking the bike back to the track on wensday....hoping to better my current best 60' of 1.57. Took the gearing back from 16/48 to 17/48....I'll let ya'll know how it works out at the track.

Good luck with it, keep us posted on reliability. I don't want to sound pessimistic, however at the last MIR Superbike Showdown Ryan Schnitz had to borrow a clutch cover puller rod from me because his new MTC lockup sheared the pin just like the Muzzys lockup is notorious for doing. I was as surprised as Ryan was since he recently switch from Muzzys to MTC lockup. Granted the rod he was using was a pre-2001 model which was thinner in diameter, and he suspected it was flexing. I gave him a replacement post '01 version that is thicker the entire length of the shaft but I haven't heard back from him if this solved the problem or not.

I hope I don't encounter any problems...was Ryan having any luck with his clutch? I have done some practice runs next to our shop, and it works like a charm.

Weve had bad luck with the post 2001 version that is thick. I have much better luck with the skinny one because of the way the groove is cut, it grabs the puller more before it lets go. We broke 10-15 post 2001 pullers with the muzzy clutch setup....launching a bunch we havent even gotten close to breaking one with the MTC.

What springs did you install? Stock springs or others? Whats your bike mods? Ive been having a hard time getting mine set but my motor is all stock execpt exhaust.

A custom set that we are trying. I am gonna be at the track tomarrow to get a good test session going. Stock springs are too stiff for my combo....stock motor/60". What are you using?

Is this the same Ryan Schnitz that denied there was a problem with the Muzzy lockup? Or are there two Ryan Schnitz's around....

I think the main problem with the breakage is either pulling the clutch in at highrpm, or not properly setting up the stack height. I triple checked everything, and its been nothing but perfect so far. I just don't see how you could break a puller rod if setup RIGHT.
BTW.....just with simple testing, I can tell that my muzzy clutch was slipping on the topend a bit without the lockup. I just hope they prep the track tonight so I can go some low 1.5's

I don't think Ryan ever denied anything on Muzzys behalf? He has been aware of the problem and the Muzzys solution is "do not pull the clutch lever in at high rpm" but the question remains is 6000 rpm considered "high rpm"? I was never able to get the product to function reliably however others have. If you have a long wheelbase and let the clutch free completely before 5500rpm and dont slip it at all then it "should" last. The problem is if you grab the lever at all to control a wheelie after the launch forget it the shaft will sheer. At the last MIR Superbike Showdown Ryan was testing the MTC lockup and had a silimar failure that he presumed was related to the shaft flexing so I gave him a post '01 version to see if that solved the problem. I'm not sure of the results I haven't spoken with him about it since that race in early July.

Went to the track, and I still need to play with it. I had the clutch locking up too late...and I didn't take the tools I needed to adjust it. Only went a 1.64 60', and a 6.3 @ 117. I adjusted it on the street, and it worked PERFECT for launching. But when I got to the track, the added traction and harder launch just slipped the clutch too much. Im going back to the strip soon with my tools in hand....so mid 1.5's here I come

The best 60ft ive got with mine to date is a 1.52 and lots of 1.53-54's. Adjusting these things are very tricky. Good luck

Same here my 02 is 6" over stock motor it has the MTC lighter springs, cuts 1.52- 1.54 60fts. Bike and rider 690 lbs.
