I found a new way to lose....

Just like all the old guys tell me, the more you drag race, the more ways you find to lose. Well, I found another one this weekend.

In the second round of the Division 7 race at Sears Point, I prestaged. Since there is a courtesy staging rule at the division races, I waited for him to prestage. After he did, I staged. Unfortunately, I was too amped. I was so focusing on the lights that when he turned on his stage light, I just went. That sucked bad!!!

The good side is that I finally won my first round in a division race. In the first round, I cut a 0.036 light to his 0.081. I ended up running a 9.75 on a 9.71 dial.

It felt good to finally win a round in a division race, but the next round I end up blowing it with a major mind fart.

That's racing...

Shoot.....I can show you plenty of ways to lose. I hate bracket racing, but I force myself to go and spend $$ since I'd REALLY lose in any heads-up class!! Oh well, maybe one day......$$$$$$$$

Try looking at the bottom bulb, & if you prestage first, you can wait for him.

The blue light was on & it's the polite thing to do.

That really bites, I'm glad you are going rounds !

I did not even make it to the 2nd round this weekend. I smoked the tire in the first round and when it wheelied ran a 9.50 @ 156. After the at round the track was opened to run and I did a 9.29 @ 157 still not as fast as usual but would have been 4th. A 1000 took 3nd at 9.19 @ 151

Ive got a good one for you. Stage with someone you know consistantly "red lights" trying to get good reaction times. Then watch his light go red and cruise down the track. Congratulate yourself on a job well done all the way to the timing booth. Look at the slip and get a sick feeling in your stomach. The effect works better in later rounds...lol

:Caution: the wrong angle of the sun could cause you to see a "false" red light....lol

Actually, I think that Red has the best story on the other end. I was talking to one of the guys he beat with his broken ZX11. Red broke something on the bike, and couldn't get it to go anywhere. Red just went up there to take a light to get some points. The poor guy in the other lane ends up breaking out and losing to Red.

So far that has got to be the most painful way to lose.

Aris, you think Phil was bummed when he went toooo fast ?

Not many of us get bummed for going too fast !

That was a good event, I went to the final...

Runner up on a broken ZX11 . . .

I'll have it fixed for 2004 !

Red, normally going to fast wouldn't be a problem, but going too fast and losing to someone who couldn't even leave the line.....well, that's a bit more painful.
