ZRX1200 at the strip (stock w/pipe)

A friend of mine has a ZRX1200 with Arkapovic making 134rwhp. He has never drag raced but has road racing experience.

I plan to go with him on July 4th to the drag strip so he can practice at a private session. What should he expect out of it? If I bust off a couple passes what do you think is reasonable?

Not lowered or strapped just piped and jetted. Dean what do you think?

Without a strap it's gonna be tough to ride. Lots o' torque down low. I would guess 10.50s with you on it Berg.

Okay I'll tell him to pickup a strap before we go... any other suggestions specific to this bike?

That's about all you can do without spending real time and money. A 16T front sprocket, dropping the fork in the tree, pod filters or stacks are pretty easy though. Ater that, call up Muzzys, they make a nice 2mm overbore kit & cams that'll put out 165hp

I have raced a stock ZREX for 3 years and the best thing your friend can do is a 3000rpm launch. Have him slid the clutch and give it gas the front wheel should come up about 6" if he does it right. Slidding the clutch is tougher on a ZREX because of the hydrulic clutch, but if he has been riding this bike for any amout of time he should know the feel of it. I have raced mine enough that I can race it with or without the tie down strap. If he gets serious about drag racing have him buy a 6"+ over arm thats when this bike gets real fun. My 2 cents

P.S. Best time on my REX is a 11.463 @ 116mph .........
2000 ZREX 1100 show room stock, nothing added. Bike has 16000 miles on it....

Not commercially available. Muzzys built one for their shootout ZRX, so I imagine they would make one for you.
