Raked front

Does anybody know if someone besides Trac ,makes a raked triple clamp for the ZX12.They have discontinued manufacturing it but I would still like to rake my 12 with out cutting the frame.

I don't know which triple it is, but Schnitz sells a 4-degree raked triple for the zx12. I'm interested to hear why not to do it.

I think they pushed up the rake on the '02 models to reduce instability

Increasing the rake is supposed to increase the straight line stability. That's why people do it with dragsters. That's why I'm really curious why Dave was told not to do it.

This is the first thing I was planning on doing if I ever decide to go drag only with my 12. I'd really like to know the downside.

Wannabe, yes increasing "trail" by properly raking the neck will increase straight line stability but by raking with offset trees you are taking away trail.Only reason to do this is to add room for intercooler without cutting your frame.IMO.Thats why i like the water inj idea so much.
The ones that Schnitz sells are trac and i believe they don't make them anymore.

Bergie, when Kawi changed the rake..they also changed the swingarm location to compensate. Personally I felt more stable on the 2000 models until I did the suspension on the 02.
