GXR 1K Velosity Turbo...dyno...
Ran a nice (Ohlins on both ends and lots of other good stuff in between) GSXR 1000 with a Velosity Turbo on the dyno today...
Stock motor, intercooled @ 8psi...
It left Barry's shop SAFE (rich) ...190.5 and 99.8 it's rich from 7K-up...so rich that it looses a couple of ponies from 8,800 to 9,600 before it climbs up to the 190+...
He has an adjustable waste gate on the way and I will get to tune it up to 12psi next thursday should make 210+ @ 8psi and about 250 @ 12psi...
(see Herman Munster jumping up&down here) OhBoy!!!OhBOY!!!

I've seen his kits on the Gixxers and IMO they are the finest ones available. Everything fits/looks GREAT.
Barry doesn't get caught up in the numbers game as far as peak hp, buts his stuff flys.
Keep us posted on future pulls.

Be interesting what one would cost for a carbed bike like ours. Nah, too late now. Thanks for the tip on the lock up.

OK!!!
Danny just left with his bike...
HowBout...245.2HP/140.2lb @-10pounds
I found out that 10psi is as high as we can go on the stock motor without C-16 fuel...
Barry (Velosity) said...there is no reason to even do "drivability mapping" ?!?!?!
I DO have to dis-agree with that...
The bike had an obvious ruff-spot in the "normal around town driving range" from 2K to 6K...from 0% to 10% throttle...
A/F was all over the place so...I did mapping from 0%-10% throttle up to 8,500RPM and the bike LUVed it...
Wish it wasn't raining here I didn't get to ride the bike but it feels and sounds COOOL on the dyno for sure...

I believe whoever said "Too much is not enough" needs to ride a 245 horse Gixxer!
I saw Barry's kit on the blue 12 last week-end in St. Louis, it's slick as is all his stuff.
Thanks for the update.

Ye-up...this bike (and turbo kit) is a nice one for sure...
I loved getting to tinker with it...fuel pressure this...boost dial that...

Sorry Bergie I don't.
The only thing I saw about it that puzzled me was the air temp probe that goes through the air box plate. On his bike it was just zip tied on top of the frame. He was pretty busy the whole week-end and I didn't want to pester him to ask about it.
The system was slick and fit great even with the '02 dual fans. Very little fairing mods were needed.
The "S" pipe from the collector to the canister was large but looked good.
I did see the bike being rode around the pits but never saw it on the track.
