APE is starting to piss me off.

I sent my crank to them at the beginning of january to have it knife edged, lightened and balanced. It's now 19 april and as of this tuesday it was still not done. I've been calling every week and I keep getting the "It will be done this week"I hope it did get done this last week.I've seen a crank that falicon did and it looked good.To the people that have had this done how long did it take?

Unrelated but I recently had to wait over 3 months just to get a set of studs and nuts from their UK importer. I even phoned APE direct and asked if I could fax them an order for another set (told them I was in England) to which they said yes, after another 2 weeks and no reply to emails I finally got "Sorry, we don't take international credit card orders"...

When it's custom made stuff I'm happy to wait as long as it takes. When it's on the shelf I want it NOW!

That sucks Harry. Strange tho, as I have only heard good things about Jay and how fast he turns things around. Was there some kind of problem that's slowing things, or is he just being slow?

I saw a busa and Zx12 crank done by falicon today (at kevins shop)...MAN those looked nice!!!

Certainly on my "to do" list when the motor decides to ventilate itself.

APE did my zrx crank twice this winter. Once to lighten and balance and again to stroke and balance. Both times it was delivered as promised, 4 weeks. Looks great.

Kevin or somebody, WHY? would anyone take their cranks to anyplace but Falicon? Most places that people send their cranks to send them to falicon and you pay extra for the Middle man fee!

Worse yet, Harry you "LIVE" In Florida! You are only about 150 miles away and could take your crank to Falicon and pick it up!

Harry, I am home now, and may I suggest that you call UPS and arrange for a Pick Up from them and then call them to tell them that UPS Is picking up the crank and you are sending it to Falicon! One of 2 things will happen! They will either lie and tell you that the crank in not there and when it is back it will be finished, or they will tell you the truth that they have lost your crank or pick it up!. Harry, WTF are you waiting for? You just do not have the money to pay and this is a good excuse? or Bart really did give it to you in the rear and now you like it

Falicon today is not the falicon of old. A few years ago they sold out to a (I think) Japanese company, kept the falicon name & one or more Falicons still work there. But they are not in charge anymore. Still one of the best, it's just that customer service is going to hell. I waited almost 25 weeks total for my crank! They cut off the starter gear by accident(thoght it was a busa), and had to get me another crank.

Vincent,
You should re-read yr post, then cogitate upon the fact that APE is certainly NOT a "middleman"... [wagging index finger no-no-no]

If they are taking time, my guess is Harry's crank needs extra loving care.

APE straightened/balanced my crank in less than 2 weeks, door to door to door.

I'll be there, but even tho my bike is running NICE, its too fresh and I am not gonna rush it onto the track. So once again i'll be watching YOU slay 'em and mooching on yr seemingly inexhaustible supply custom beef jerky.

You ain't heard about bart having a bunch of large diameter bullet holes in him have you? Bart or nobody else ain't packin my fudge.Hey vincent this birds for you!
I've got the money by the way!
I called APE yesterday.John told me the boss was working on my crank at that moment. He is the only one that does the cranks.I said I would call again next week.John apologized and said they were really swamped and that he would call me (This week) when it was done.
I know falicon is in fla.I have a falicon billet clutch basket in my bike. Falicon's quality is very good, but not as good as it used to be.I saw the crank at kevins that falicon had done.I will compare APE's job on my crank to the falicon crank.I have another crank that is damaged that I want to get stroked. If the quality is superior I don't mind waiting longer. 14 weeks is a Long time.

OK, Harry, I remember that Crank, but I thought it was a Muzzys Crank and we thought Falicon did it? I was pushing you because it is long past time to get your crank back period! I like your Large Bullet holes in Bart and Of course I know you have the money (I remember forcing you NOT to pay me for some "Things" you got from me until I was ready to shipm ) The Fact is that it just pisses me off to see this happen. You are a good patient person. That is a Fault I do not have I hope that the crank is a perfect as it should be! Let me /us know when you get it back and how they did!

I just got my stuff back from APE.... excellent work, carrillos look good, missing a spacer plate, and it looks like someone dropped my cyl, who knows that could have happened at UPS. APEs prices and there info has been good. Im glad I did business with them, hopefully my next experience will be even better.
