low oil pressure

A little history. Ive never had an oil pressure gauge on the bike or logged pressure until my turbo build last yr. I put a mechanical Auto-meter gauge on it. that was also my first season for running a dry sump. the most pressure my gauge ever showed was 60ish psi. T'd into where the oem low pressure sensor is. I was sure there must be something wrong with the gauge, but I barely got the bike to the track for the last race of the yr, so it was just on the to check list, not overly pressing as everything was running fine. ( thinking to myself I have a dry sump, my oiling issues are over). tonight I was getting ready to fire up the T-61 for the first time, but I couldnt get the oiling system to work. it simply wasnt pumping oil out the line for the filter relocator. a small pulsing dribble, not enough to get forced through the filter. I even stuck a new filter on to rule that out. pulled the pan, all seals looked good. pulled the oil pumps(i was going to pack the pump with grease to rule out priming). found this

the seal is not fully supported and kicked sideways, bleeding off oil pressure. the seal is torn/cut, and the metal is dented under the rubber as is the aluminum (much easier to see)

the oem water pump fully supports the seal
