I don't have an answer for you Woppi, but I've read positive posts about Shorai & Ballistic. There are a bunch on eBay, if you search for LiFePo4 and motorcycle you should find plenty.

hey woppi,
i have 2 Ballistic Li-ion 16cell in greenie for 24V starting.
they work great and even seem to charge themselves to some extent (how can that be?)

If you go Li-ion, i would advise putting bigger than is strictly required
the wt difference is minimal, but starting is much better when bigger if temp is real cold.

Last race at Maxton it was 33F in the morning, my bike fired right up, but a bud's bike with an 8 cell wouldn't.

BTW: don't charge them at over 14.6V or something bad happens.

Also running a Shorai in my ZRX. Around 9 lbs lighter. Spins over my 1307 motor with ease. You can get in larger casing but the internals are the same.

Im getting a 12 cell Ballistic Li-ion. currently running 2 stock sized batteries (12v starting) the one tiny battery will replace them and knock about 20 lbs off the bike

I use TurnTec batteries. He sells them mostly for dirtbikes but I use his 5AH for my Hayabusa with no issues except for below 50' it takes a bit to start the bike. But after about 4 turns on the starter it warms up and cranks fine. I use one for my ZRX and also use the smaller 2AH for my 250R Ninja race bike which works really good.

They are very inexpensive but if your bike is heavily modded I don't think it will work perfectly for you. Not sure. My oldest one is 3 years old and works great to this day.

I have had one of these in my bike since last April, lots of weekends at the strip, running the air compressor without the bike running and lots of street miles. I am living in Maryland and I haven't even had any problems when the temps get cold, I always turn on the key and let it sit for a few seconds before I try it and it never fails. Weight is 1.5lbs.
