Why doesnt Harley Davidson just stick with StreetBikes???
I'm sure you guys have read that Vance & Hines pulled out of Prostock this year!!!...Its a shame, because it disrupted alot of things, along with how the Nations finances are getting!!!
In MHO Harley Davidson forced V&H to park their ProStock inline4 and back their ProStock V-Rod Harleys!!!...If you look at the stories covering the ProStock Harleys, some record ETs were 7.40s/7.30s!!!...That is compared to 7.0s/7.10s of the inline4 ProStocks!!!
I know this is the way it is, its all ON THE LEVEL KID  I just wish Harley Davidson would understand their place in motorcycle history, and that is to stop buying their way in and just keep it on the Streets!!!...We have all seen that in History when HD gets involved in Racing they CANNOT Compete with the Italian and Japanese Bikes!!!...Its a shame, because HD can make a competitive bike if they would do some real R&D!!!
Maybe HD should spend their money on R&D instead of advertising and make a Motorcycle that is worthy of the 21st century!!!...Then HD can stand tall and say this is an AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE!!!...No, they choose to make archaic units and charge way too much money for them, but hey its American and the ignorant people of our Nation fall prey to the BullShit of Harley Davidson!!!
Maybe someday HD will do the right thing!!!

They'll just pay to change the rules,
until their bike becomes competetive...
Or just quit, like they did in Superbike...

It's driven by the ignorance of the public. Go to a big drag race and the majority of the fans that come don't really have a clue other then rumor and TV. Talk to them and they honestly believe the Harley is the big gun.
Locally at our little drag race track on any given Sunday there could be from 12 to 24 motorcycles show up. In the group of regulars that show we have a Kawi drag bike that runs high 7's low 8's anytime he wants. We have a half of dozen low 9 guys that are dialed in to the nth degree to run that number. And then the rest are like myself we might hit a 9, 10 or even an 11 because of making a mistake, wheelies etc. That said a guy can show up on a harley or someone shows up on a harley drag bike and the place nearly shuts down! They give them special handling, they let them run extra passes, give them their own individual runs etc. The crowd goes crazy and the bike runs a 10 second quarter!
One of the local guys that runs a harley with a trillion dolars in mods, NOS etc. decided to get his pro license. Did all the paper work, and then did his observed runs. Including the under 10 second runs required for the license. At least to my understanding it is required that you make sub 10 second runs as a part of the process. Anyway, he couldn't make a run in the 9's. Not one, no matter how many attempts, all the coaching etc. the best he could do was 10.099. But the guys signed him off, he got his license and people think his bike is fast. For the record he went and raced the entire season and never got close to his 10.099 again.
It is mystic and image. Why don't they just get it over with and start up the Harley cup so the Harleys can win something. Lets face it they did that in Flat track racing. When Honda put the 750 Honda on the flat track back in the late 60's when it first came out it spanked the XR750. So Harley and the AMA invented rules to eliminate the Honda.
I could go on but I won't.

Zooligan,Thats exactly the way it is up here with the cmdra.The harleys all have there own classes and they are the important ones!Because of the lack of bikes in some of the Harley classes they have been invited to run in a metric class(example would be pro-gas Harley invited to run with the promod metric class)Even though the progas bike can run a 12 inch slick against the import promod that we only allow a 9 inch slick the Harley decides to race his class by himself???Nothing like traveling 13 hrs to race your self.lol.Another example was the idea of opening up the supergas class(10.20 index)to metric bikes also but all the current Harley guys running that class were very much against that idea since most of them cannot even get close to the 10.20 with a $30,000 bike!

Fuck Harleys!  Never owned one,never wanted one. Why would I want to ride something that's is slow as two old people fuckin,won't stop worth a shit and doesn't handle?
I love it when I run against a harley in gainesville and he has a wheelie bar and slick and I fuck him up like a run over dog! And I'm not that fast but I do make it down the track every time (well so far).

Well if you want to see Prostock M/C with all the major brands you better go this year. Because next year it will be the all H-D show. If you dont think that this will happen just look at all the big players V-H and Star are both building Prostock Harleys.
Harley Davidson can't win so they will do what have done all there life and buy there way in. In the 70s H-D got the goverment to limit all imports to 750cc or pay a huge tarif.. So the jap bikes did it any way. and like Crotchrocket said about the flat track racing they band all bike but H-D so they could be the soul winner and where is the fun in watching the same bike over and over.
Do you think that NASCAR would only allow Fords to run? NO that would kill the sport and there profit. H-D only cares about there own pockets.
It all comes down to money and if you want to stop this fright train do the following. Phone, Write or E-mail the big 4 M/C companys and tell them to double the NHRA offer no matter what H-D offered them for the all H-D deal and to keep it open to all motor cycles and not just one brand.
I also blame the NHRA for letting this happen. I have been a member of the NHRA for 4 years now and they don't give a shit about M/C Dragracing. We are like the redheaded step children that nobody wants to claim in an all blond family.
Also the magizine for not caring about our sport they do little to help our cause. Look at C/W or Motorcyclist or any of the bike Mags and they do very little if any dragracing coverage. If your not a knee scaping fool or a cruiser they just don't care.
Please don't get me wrong I enjoy all typed of riding but please spead the love and show us that you do care about our sport.
So in closing if you want to do something than call the NHRA and Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha and tell them to get behind us and help us all to win this fight and not just one Brand.....
Shame on you H-D for trying to buy a Championship. Earn it like the rest of us did.......

I was thinking about going to that, but from most of the guys that I have talked to said its going to be a Big Harley event...
Look at the flyers they have 3 Harleys on there and not a Metric bike one.....Whats up with that?????
We have a race here that is the T & O bike drags and its a mix show every thing is welcome. When it was a 2 day show that was a blast. The Party on Saturday night, kinda like a mini Sturgis, Live band and Naked women....
Don't know at this point if I'm going to go or not, have to wait and see......

Don't matter to me if there are a bunch of harleys, $20,000 to win no-box bracket race gets my attention every time. $2000 to win street bike class too. Bring on the Harleys, most are not very good bracket racers, and your sure to get a couple of wins from a breakdown.

I'm hoping that I can get a bunch of us to go to split the cost, that would help alot.
We can have the Bikeland drag club just take the place over and turn it into the ZX12R Nationals..........hahahahaha

But all you have to tell them Harley guys is;
You had to build a one off proto type to do it. And were still kicking your ass with 30 year old bike engines...... We can build 2 whole bike for what your motor cost.....ect.ect.ect; put in your own line here....
Its like every thing else with Harleys there old and slow and it cost big bucks to make them go fast......and then there only so-so......HAHAHAHA

Andrew Hines did make history on Sunday...
That's the first time a Harley won a round in Pro Stock !
The next round it quit before it got to the other end...
Just like a Harley, they want to run some times, but not always !
