Cherry Drag racer
Ok guys, I have a 1/8th mile strip about 8 miles from my house, I have been out there and played around a few times, but keep in mind I am not a drag racer, just a guy messing around on the strip...I ran pretty consistant times at 6.8-7.0, at around 113mph, on my out of the box 12R. I dont remember the 60ft times, and my reaction time sucks, I need to practice.
My question is this: Is there a class that only allows stock bikes? is it sanctioned? and what kind of times would I have to run to be competitive? Where do they run? Do sanctioning bodies do 1/8th mile?
I apreciate the input fellas, and ladies if the case may be....Jim

You would probaly just run in Street ET.
Your times dont matter...its bracket racing vs heads up racing. So basically you each guess what ET you are going to run...and the one who gets closer to their dialin time without going faster wins the race.

It's up to the track what classes they run...MOST tracks only have one class for ALL the bikes to run together but...if there are enough bikes??? some tracks will run a StreetTire class...
At "Bike Only" races there is almost always a Street class...
Like Brian said...DON'T worry about what times you run...just try to do the same thing every time...
DON'T worry about your reaction times while learning to ride/race your bike either...
Once you get COMFY on yer bike...you can concentrate on your reaction times

cool, that is pretty much what we do at the local track, its a run what ya brung, and set an et and dont break out...
An kcadby, me and my baby are one... She does what I tell ehr to do, I just dont always tell her the right thing...my biggest problem Is waiting to see green before I launch, and as you all know, that is wayyyy to slow, I need to stat reading the yellows.
I run with all the guys in my area, but none of us are close to being pros at it. The only guys that beat me consistantly are guys that have been doing it for a long time.....I will work on the launch,I think that will make me more consistant....now if I could just get home and put all of this to use...
Ohand Kcadby, I talked to my g/f today, I think if I dont make it home here shortly form this hell hole, she id gonna bring the bike down to you and have you map it....if I get home I will do it, will have to make a day of it, or maybe I will come down the night before and get a hotel room..I dont know yet. All I know is we have something like 78 days to DG5, I reserved a cabin, and gonna be pissed if I am sitting in Iraq while you guys are up there riding....lol

aww man..we got plenty o couches here in jax for you to sleep a night in 
I go just(and I mean just) before the 3rd yellow comes on. I redlight alot in practice...but its almost ALWAYS a .48x or .49x...I dont mind that in the least.

YCIS that is cool brother, I may have to take someone up on that...I am going to have some time when I get home, lots of 4 day weekends and some vacation time too, think I am gonna take Zed up the east coast if Kely isnt around, she may have to come here when I go home. We shall see, if she does then I am going touring...if not, she and I are going up to north ga and the DG area for a few weeks again and ride.....Thats why I cant stretch it...I do too many twisties.....lol But I can strap it....lol

Your not looking hard enough...
www.NMRAonline.com has a 60" naturally aspirated class...
However with you being on the right coast,
check our S.E.M.D.R.A.
They race 1/8 mile in and around Georgia....
