A Good Spark
has any one ttried using a spark plug with a coole heat rating. what are the pros and cons

A cooler plug(higher#)is just supposed to help with problems like pre ign,and detonation.If you go one step colder(10)i don't think you will see any performance loss(very minimal)while running N/A but it may help just little bit when you need it running NOS

Ive not noticed any difference in riding the bike normally with the colder plugs.
The motor has to REALLY warm up before it will idle without stalling however.

Only thing I'll add to what they said (I agree with them)...
There is no need/reason to run colder plugs unless you are running LOTS of NO2 (which YCIS is doing)...
If you are mapped rich at all...you will probably end up fouling them...might take a while but...you will foul them...

Yes,I run 80hp dry shot and still stock plugs.This year we will turn that bike up a bit and go one step colder on plugs

Its my understanding that the iridium plugs were designed for insanely long life (as in the electrode doesnt get destroyed as quickly)...but for as much as we are spraying..the plug would be fouled up LONG before even normal plug life expired.

I've had Iridium plugs since June of 2001 as one of many steps in trying to improve performance even if it's just a little. 
I had no gain at the strip at all in "before and after" testing.
